My new 'homemade' pole

I've told a few peeps on here that my dad (he welds) and I have been working on a new handlepole for my ski. They wanted pics, so I thought I would share with everyone. Its getting close to done, so here are some shots of the top before we tack it together. The top bracket is Billet Aluminum, as are a few other parts for it. Abe and I dubbed it "Jays Sticks"

It is loosly based off the look of a UMI pole (was the easiest way to make it, since we couldnt find the correct extruded tubing.)

Nice, very nice, now get geek to see if the top piece will break since he's a master at that.

Thanks guys. :cool2: I have to give my dad a lot of credit for helping me out. :headbang:

As for the weight, its not that heavy. (current about the same as an XMW- Ill weigh it tonight) The actual pole is light at 1/8" (11 guage) T6061 aluminum sheet broke to 45 and 90 degree. The top is 1/2" T6061, and a bit heavier. But I only wanted to do this once.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Off to mock it up

that looks pretty good. I had thought about making one myself. But i really wanted to make it more like the XMW pole. I was kinda hoping thats what you did so i could findout where you got the tubing. cant wait to see how yours turns out when its done.
