My new find, 701 wetjet power

Your engine is a standard 61X, the pipe and couplers were made by Westcoast. Those pipes work well if you can make it fit. The lower V-band clamp will break if they are not assembled correctly.

I would like to find the blaster style stinger end.

:headbang:Shawn has a shaft for me. The plate bolts down flat on the hull, not sure what actuall mounts they are.

I just don't know if the heights will be right, but one can hope. Even if the wetjet plate is wrong, it will help with designing one that would bolt in the same way, at least in theory......

Heres what I did on the 300sx build, its just aluminum plate and bolts to the stock mounts,I drilled and tapped the plate for the new mounts. That piece sits flat over where the stock mounts bolt into the hull. The holes for mounting into the hull were chamfered and I used oval headed allen bolts from Mcmaster -Carr.I know the Yami engines sit fairly low in the hulls whereas the Kawi engines sit higher so maybe theres some working room there.Measure the centerlines on the crankshafts with the engines sitting flat on the workbench and see, that should give you an idea of what room you have to work with, let me know if you need Kawi crankshaft centerline measurements,I have several out.

my plan with the wet jet pipe i have is cut it.. turn it.. weld it and use it in my blaster.. I'm thinking for the price of the welding it will be a great pipe !
Butch, no need, they made the tail section for just that. Happen to know what the rated hp was on a wetjet?

Okay Crab I am not seeing this working, when you drop the engine in and line it up part of the left engine bracket rests on top of the left rear engine mount boss,It also does not look like there is any room for engine mounts to go,it looks like the engine mount bosses need to be cut out and bosses out of a Yamaha could be glassed in at the right height ,then it would work, also there is a thread sometime back with pics about converting a Kawi bedplate to mount up to a Yami engine.I knew I had had looked at this before but I didn't recall all the details.I did this mockup in a 650sx hull,it should be very close to the X2.

Okay after doing some more research this is what I found, you use the stock Kawi bedplate, and chunk the stock Yami bedplate pieces. On the back you weld up the holes and redrill them to the Yami pattern, what they are using is the long 8mm case bolts for mounting the engine to.The back two will pretty much line up.On the front either you cut a hole in the bedplate so the old engine mount boss nearest the starter will clear or you can cut the boss down about half its normal width and put a bolt in it,it should then clear the plate either way, here comes the tricky part, the front of the plate needs to be extended to catch the front two case bolts, you will have to add about 3/4-1 inch there, cut the part where it is bent down and put a straight piece there to lengthen the plate,I would butt weld that piece on then weld a plate over both of them for strength,I would also look into putting studs in those four holes instead of the long bolts, you will also have to put four thick washers between the cases and the plate to get the cases to clear in the middle. That should get you within shimming range, that Thundercat dude was selling a plate made this way for $200.00,I would think you could do it for about $50.00-$80.00

Hmmm, I will look at that when everything is here. I can weld on my spare 650 x2 plate no problem (nice that they are steel.).
