My first sj got a few questions

Hey guys, i had the ski out last night and it ran good. Im thinking it was a little to cool actually after a good ten minutes of riding the engine was hot but i could keep my hand on it for extended periods of time. Also the water comming out of the pisser was warm/hot but not hot enough that i would have to remove my hand from it. I no on my kawasakis the pisser would get so hot if you touched it with your foot by accident while on the hood you could really feel it. The last thing is the bottom end didnt seem to be there. Do you think i need to rejet my carbs since im not running a a/m pipe? Or could the no bottom end be comming from the engine running to cool?

if the AM pipe was removed and the carbs were not rejetted than yes you need to rejet...also check out your impeller and figure out what pitch it is, it could be too tall and not hitting like you want.

I think for stock you should be looking for a 130main and 70 pilot for a set of dual 38's...

well... there are stock 44s and aftermarket 44s... I guess it makes a difference when you are doing jetting and popoff which ones you have....

This a clip I found in another thread for you.... dont know how close it will get you but hopefully it will be a starting point... make sure you buy enough stuff for your carbs to change jets up or down and springs and stuff to get you different popoff... dont want to set it up and then have to order stuff and keep waiting on parts to come in... here it is---> "120/100/2.0/95g" that is from the other thread... for the stock carbs if you have aftermarket this may be different... you may want to call a professional engine builder and see if he will talk to you for a few minutes about a place to start.... Xscream, Jetworks, and LPW should all be able to help you.....

actually now that I think about it maybe it would be easier to just go to the lake and experiment.... most likely you are already somewhat close (hopefully) and you can dial it in from there... but you may have to order more jets/needle-seat/spring

Hey cattledog me and my buddy were actually going to go down to burlington beach its probably only 20 minutes away but we got sidetracked working on his 550. Im heading up to port burwell today and will be there until tuesday so mabe sometime next week ill hit up burlington, and ericfox i am relativly close to a few areas, so tuning it wont be a problem, i will have to order some jets next week i guess and hopefully they get here in time.
