This is my brothers 2003 Octane. He just put the new motor that Randy at Watcon built (it looks insane).

Long story short he landed a barrel roll flat and it jar the hood off. We still cannot figure out if the latch popped open or not. Anyone who has latched an octane hood down knows how tight they are. Regardless he grabbed a handful of throttle and apparently it ingested some water at high rpm and destroyed the stock motor. It appeared to have hydra-locked the front cylinder which split it in half (literally). That then ripped the exhaust manifold off the back cylinder. All in all the motor was total carnage (crank, both cylinders, manifold, etc...). Randy knows the extent of the damage better.

Randy built him a stock stroke monster with all of his parts he builds for these motors. His craftsmanshiop and attention to detail is insane.

My brother took a 550 gas tank and sealed off the top end. He then flipped it over and mounted it. I thought it was a great idea. Doesnt leak and is significantly smaller than a SJ/Octane tank and still has better ride time then a kart tank.

This thing is a tank but we love it. All the people that rip the Octane apart need to ride one first. It takes some getting used to (its width especially) but its really a great ski.

See you all in Daytona

Mike

Did you have a chance to get that octane in the water yet? I am interested in hearing how that motor setup is working.
