Well things were great for me. My job for the last year has been hellish to say the least. I was constantly getting lied to, and involved in WAY too many upper level politics. It was a GREAT feeling when I quit!

I just started my new job at Kawasaki on Monday. This place is AWESOME! The people are great, the work is excellent, it’s close to home, and everything else is good. I’m in the hydraulics division, but I’ve got a STXF and a Ninja ZX-9 about 7 feet away from my desk. There are old promotional posters all over the place! Shots of Victor Sheldon and Mac are throughout the hallways.
I think I’ll be here for a long time!

So, about 10 minutes into the Monday morning meeting, I’m informed that the president of the Japanese hydraulics division is coming over to the States for a visit to meet everyone. He wants to meet the US hydraulics people and their spouses. He wants to golf and have a nice formal diner and yadda, yadda, yadda. So, guess what Saturday he’ll be here? That’s right, May 20.

MAY 20!!!!!

Of 51 other weekends that he could have chose, he chooses that one.

I spoke with my supervisor as well as some other people, and I think it would go over poorly if I did NOT attend this ‘outing’. The Japanese have some different cultural things, and respect is a biggie.

So, the bottom line is as of this week, I CANNOT go to Lanier.

The job and the company is just too cool to risk making a bad impression. Because of missing out on Lanier, I’ll DEFINITLY be able to go to Jersey! (that’s what I’ll put my hope in for now.)

So, everybody go have a TON of fun in Lanier, and I’ll be there next year.

Thanks Paul!
I was hoping you'd understand!

I need to get the fellas in Japan to shave about 100lbs off the sxr, and send it out from the factory with an X-metal pole on it!
(and get them to talk to Dan Lamey about port size and roof angles.)

Congrats on the new job:arms:

We need to ride together sometime. It's been a couple of years now.

Steve

I'm going to convince him to come down to Louisville before Lanier somehow just to ride, want to meet us here?

Well first I must say congrats on the job geek! Sounds like a keeper, so that's good news.

However Lanier is a bummer, I was looking forward to your company/guidance. I just might have a sticker "Geek is with Us" on my ski

"Master Obi-Wann must attend to the Kawagreen region of the galaxy, he can not guide you in your efforts. Lanier is a challenge you must conquer alone my young son."
