My 2007/2008 Freeride SXR revamp aka shortening hull.

The plan is to drop it down from 371lbs to around 330 ready to run.

Mods that I have done:
-4cm setback motor
-TDR Waterbox
-Footholds
-UMI pole w/ cotter pin
-R&D Head
-VFII's
-JSU Spacers
-Fly Arrestors w/adaptors
-Wetpipe
-Advent ignition
-Solas 13-22 cutback
-Jetdynamics intake grate
-D-cut ride plate
-Too much heavy blowsion bling
-C.A.T.S. using an X2 nozzle

Mods for the winter will be (as long as there is money):

Setback pump 4 cm
Shorten hull by 50mm/2 inches or so
Remove rear exhaust
Porting
Flywheel
Lose the heavy blowsion bling
9lb battery
Trinity Composite goodies
Carbon chin pad
Dual Oneways
Paint (hopefully)
Returf
Whatever else I want to do

Weighed the motor in at 92.9lbs

The motor complete weighing in at 93lbs sounds good.
Might want to add a nice set of carbs to that list of mods.

Well I figured I would update this..

Before winter came I got my shed (10x14) hooked up with heat and electrical for winter and its working out great!!

I'm still waiting on my Trinity Hood, Hopefully will be here around the 1st of March.

My motor is apart and cylinder is out to getting bored and ported by zforce and my sexy new Jetinetics Flywheel is on!!

Cut the hull back about 2 inches and pulled the exhaust out..

It doesn't look squared in this picture but it really is, took me awhile but its good.

Dug out alot of the foam from my old oneway and footholds which was SOAKED and whoever says that the stock styrofoam doesn't hold water is WRONG. It does...not alot but it does.. I also cut off the back bond line as you can see in this picture.

I put two homedepot/menards 2" oneways in that will dump into the pump which look SWEETT!!!!

Just in case it lets in too much water when I'm jsut cruising and relaxing out on the lake I made a cork to fit the openning. Gonig to get some sealant that you put on sandles that helps seal the cork from getting ruined by the water

I was wondering if the foam filled the whole cavity and how wet it was? Was it like two part foam wet, or more surface wet? We are working on using styrofoam is a SJ instead of the two part.

The foam did fill the whole cavity except where the water goes through for that drainplug from the hole in the bulk head next to the housing.

The two part foam was soaked from the footholds and the old oneway I had in there. All the styrofoam was wet/damp when I started to rip that out. No where even close the to how bad the two part was.

what are you gonna do with your old hood, and how are you gonna set back your pump??

I'm keeping my stock hood for a spare probably.

What I was going to do for setting back the pump was -

Use a 650 pump since it has a pumpshoe on it, remove the stock pumpshoe, put the stock driveshaft back in which would push the 650 pump back 4cm since that is howfar my motor is back. Redrill/fab up mounting on the 650 pump 4cm closer to the front of the pump so that it would line up with the mounting holes in the hull and done!

The two problems I ran into that will probably hold off that part of the project was that the bearing surface on the driveshaft was too far back towards the pump cavity. The second problem is that I am running out of time.

Looking Good. I will probably have to refoam too... Mine is over 400 pounds (full tank of gas). I might wait one more year...

Get that 6 pound trinity hood, even without moving the motor back you created a 2 inch setback by cutting the hull down.
