Msd enhancer

I am adding a B-pipe, ADA kit and MSD enhancer. My mechanic friend is doing work. Do I have to add the MSD enhancer? Can I save money by skipping it and adding a trim system? How much power will the enhancer add? I would rather have the trim system. Just curious. Would I save money as well by adding the trim system while he is doing all this work?

You NEED to deal with your rev limiter one way or another IMO. Pro tec modded stock CDI or MSD enhancer.

A MSD enhancer has timing advance built in. So it isn't just the rev limiter that is provided by the enhancer. If you are doing engine mods you might as well do the enhancer and then buy the parts to build a trim setup one piece at a time. The trim is only good for spraying your friends. You won't be back flipping with just a pipe and head so the trim is more of a play toy anyhow. I would have done the enhancer first. I think it is a noticeable "seat of the pants" feel.

I have always (to a point) shunned the idea of an MSD. I do not believe they will do much for a stockish boat.

However i myself finally added one on to mine, saying my engine is pretty much in its final form and this is how it will be staying for quite some time.

I must say it really tied everything together nicely, and was quite impressed with the results. But unless your already running a fully ported motor, some larger carbs, a lightened flywheel, a tuned B pipe, and higher compression, I would say its not worth it yet.

off topic but not really...but your running an aftermarket prop with all those other bolt on mods right?? if not u definitely need to address this if you're running a pre 08 boat

prop before the msd for sure

in fact id do the prop before a head or pipe... i put a new prop, grate and plate when i bought my superjet brand new in 04 before it even hit the water

need to make the ski handle right first otherwise engine mods are pointless

well...make sure u get the right prop for the right mods. buy your prop according to what mods you're doing, and if possible do them all at the same time. msd you can always add later when u save some fund-age
