OK, can someone please explain how the keepers are installed, and how they work?:dunno:

They are installed on top of the motor mount hold down bolts and are positioned just in front of the bedplates to prevent the motor from moving forward. Did that make any sense?!? The picture doesn't show the front real well---but maybe you'll get the idea...

Someone needs to design a set that will fit the fx1 and the blaster. I'm too lazy to come up with one myself.

Why don't they work, Jerry?!? I would assume they would because the bedplates are the same---are the motor mounts different?!?

FX1 and Blaster use different mounts than the supers. The super jet mounts bolt straight down has like a 45 deg angle to go to the bed plate. The B1 and FX have plated glued into the hull, so its a straight, and the plate is at 45 deg, not the mount. Confusing?

Kenny keepers do not work on a B1 or FX1! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

Some people would reccomend against doing it that way, but I haven't had any problems with any of my boats that are set up that way. The argument (and a valid one) is that the oily residue left in your engine bay can make your Turf slippery. The outlets actually mount above the electrical box---I just mocked the box up and measured twice, cut once.

I don't have any pictures on the computer I am currently using. I can post some later.

I made my own Keepers, just because I found some convenient metal pieces at work, and well, I did it instead of real work at work so it was a no-brainer. Next time I'll buy the real ones if they're only $75.

I also run my electric bilge exit into my tray, it's easy to see.

oem gp800 mounts bolt right up and are much more beefy. I was breaking a lot from landing on my side on 3/4 rolls, kkeeper wont cure that.

So the 800 oem yam motor mounts are the same heigth and same angle, just bigger around?
I have been around many 800 mounts but never really looked at them close or even thought about if they would fit a 701/760 SJ.

So in your opinion Ramjet, do you think these are better than Monkey grips?
Im just curious as I am shopping for 4 new motor mounts too and have a line on some used OEM 800 mounts here in town.

my opinion:

use the gp800 mounts, because monkey grips are harder and transfer more vibration throughout the ski, especially if you are running a stroker. However I'm running oem sj mounts on my new lightweight hull to intentionally provide a weak link. I'd rather break a motor mount than crack the hull around the motor mounts.
