well, after reading this thread, i have to say the only problem with surf is that there is only so much that is easily available and sometimes it brings about issues and drama. but stan and andrew have known each other for awhile and this is just internet bs..they both have their points and lets leave it at that...riding some of the local "secret" spots is touchy at best..we are always extremely careful and do our best not to piss off the local surfers, because they can be very vocal and really do have the ability to cut us off (what else do they have to do, work? haha, j/k.) most real surf riders understand this but a few bad apples has made all of us nervous, and its understandable (at least in my IMO) that some of us want to make sure that people are legit before showing them the spots. As a landlubbing redneck who loves the ocean myself, i think that a little localism is all that separates us from being banned completely..you florida guys have your secret spot(s?) and we got ours...but when it comes down to it, none are much better than pismo, and its better to be safe than sorry.

that you in front of the lens andrew?

this mentality is no different from crips and bloods in L.A. fighting over streets they don't own. Benny, you're always WELCOMED to come ride in Indian Slough with me. although there are also a few jackarse boaters who also think they "own" some of the sloughs too. but most people are great! i'll never understand how some people feel like they own public areas.

...anyone who thinks surfers aren't aggro over here need to hit the lineup at Smyrna, Ponce or Sebastian and see how fast you get beat down... It will be a bad scene. I have seen surfers go crazy at "shark shallows" for just coming w/i 200ft of them... Best bet is to stay very far from them IMO. Most spots we ride except for Daytona Beach Break is clear of them though, so it's nice.

fortunately where I ride there are no surfers . . . well, there are wake sufers who give off AWESOME wake. and as long as you are far from them going in the opposite direction hitting their wake is great! :)

Public or state land..... I have never understood the mentality of people thinking they can dictate terms on public property. Public hunting land is very similar . An area hunted by locals is often off limits if your not in the click . My friends and I have had to deal with it many times hunting timber in Arkansas . It is simple , if it's public ... it's public and i have as much right to be there as anyone . Be polite , safe , Courteous and NEVER TAKE ^%$^% OFF ANYONE THAT SAYS YOU CANT BE THERE .

and why does it matter so much???

...Don't you ride in a place referred to as "the secret spot"? Why is it a secret?

I'm guessing it's because you don't want it ruined by the meatball masses.

If I had a secret place to ride, especially if it was a really good one, I wouldn't tell a soul!

i am not at all from the pismo beach area and i have no clue as to what the local vibe amongst surfers and freeriders are. isn't Azhiaziam mainly a surfer group that also promotes freeriding? has that bridged the gap between jetskiers and surfers? if there is a gap between the two.
