mis shaft assy?

whos assembled one ? the shaft is tapered ,does it press in to the last taper?

I measured a known good assembly and had the machinist press it in to that measurement.

I know that doesn't help you.

tubbies is/are the answer
press the shaft out towards the coupling... then take a seal puller and pull out the oil seals, make sure you take note of their rotational position because you need to reinstall the new ones in the same order... then get an internal snap ring tool and pull out the snap rings, then press out the bearing...

press the shaft in to 19.5-20.5mm from the tapered end to the flange that rests against the hull
factory service manual has all the specs

Dont think I've posted this on X-H2O:

Don't spend $40+ for the OEM Yamaha intermediate driveshaft bearing. The same bearing can be found @ your local heavy truck parts house.They're like $15
(Federal Mogul bearing#205FF) Its a bearing used in Semi truck transmissions.

And even 15 dollars is too much, IMHO. A pump shop should be able to get it for less than 5 bucks.
