Mikuni External Fuel Pump Mounting

I have one of the 65 Liter/Hour dual outlet black external pumps. I want to mount it with the pulse fitting pointing up because that would have the input fitting facing the fuel tank and the two outputs facing the carbs. Otherwise, with the pulse fitting pointing down, the fuel lines will have to wrap around the pump like an octopus.

Does anybody see a problem with the pump being "upside-down"? I am assuming it would be okay since it should pump in any direction, but I wanted to get opinions.

You should have it pointing down so any water/fuel that may accumulate in the diaphragm area can drain to the crankcase.

I just made a stainless piece that bolts on carb side between motor mounts and bolted it there. It works fine. Some have said it wont work that low in hull but it works just fine now for over a season.

Pulse line should always be less than 12cm long - shorter the better and as Superjett said it must be a single vertical run.
