its because of the fuel atomization
it takes energy out fo the air to make it happen

Personally i have ridden 2 boats with a single on them and i hated the power they made
but each to there own
A well tuned set of dual is tops in my mind

Do not do a single carb. Your engine will get out of your ski and leave while you are asleep.....:haha:

Really, I preferr stock dual 44s to my single 48 Blackjack. Believe it or not the 44s get better fuel economy, and maybe a little more power up top.

I still want to try a Riva or Full Spec single though, buts its hard to take something apart that runs so good.

See...I wouldn't sell my dual 44's until after trying the single. I think I am only considering the Riva or FS as candidates for the single.

just straddle the underside of the ski with your junk in the intake grate and have someone start and throttle the ski. now that would suck balls.

i have a 61x case, reeds, manifold and carb for $73.99

Thats assuming your junk is not big enough to hang down and get caught in the drive shaft

I would be the first person to install handholds on the bottom of the hull!

also that case/reed/manifold/carb is a bargain...

hmmmmmmm ( I NEED that... not really.. just a sucker for a bargain)

For what its worth....my reeds are not stock...

After riding my boat and Phill's back to back this weekend, I am thinking of converting to a single carb.

His setup:
61x cases, 61x cylinder @ 84mm, heavy FS porting (identical porting to mine)
Stock ignition, stock CDI, stock intake, carb, reeds, etc. All stock. Compression 170lbs. B-Mod
Skat 14.5/18.5 race prop

My setup:
62T cases, 61x cyl @ 82mm, identical porting. Dual 44’s, Vforce2 reeds, 165psi, B-Mod (set up identical to his), Solas 13/16 cutback

I swear, his boat his almost as hard as mine, and keeps up with me every bit of the way. I am convinced that if he had my total loss and the right prop, his boat would f’n scream at me from the distance.

Now, my wanting for a single carb has little to do with his power level. It’s just that it’s just about as powerful as mine, so I wouldn’t be giving up power anywhere. And it’s so much cleaner and easier to work on!

I am extremely tempted to go for a single Riva Powerbomb
