Midway Airboat rides in Titusville, Florida

It's not jetskis but it was fun none the less. My Wife has always talked about taking an airboat ride so last weekend I surprised her with a ride while we down south with the skis.

Operated by Midway Airboat Tours, Captain Mike took us for a ride on "The Wild Thing" on the St John's River in Titusville Florida. The 1 hr tour tour was over much to quickly and we are now hooked. They are hard to see in the Vid but we stopped in one pool that had several gators up around 13ft long.

I shot our adventure with a GOPRO Wide to see how it would do and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I held it in my hands for the entire trip just in case you were wondering about the angle. It's one of the ones Costco is selling for $99.

I can tie it into skis for you though...I'll see if I can find some pics (I do know they are edited already). We have one that visits our lake regularly to do work (funny day too, lol)!

These city workers are a riot!! They come in regularly to keep the canals at Winter Park's Chain of Lakes clean. This is my main riding partner, GDSuperjet! We were just being wetarded for fun as usual, lol. I have more of a dare I gave him, yet I am not posting them, since he should not have done it...yet all went well anyway, thankfully...he's a nut!! :Banane09:

My Last boat I built was a Air Gator 13ft... I had a plane fly in from the Bahamas that I took the engine off & installed in right on the boat. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it. 300HP fuel injected Lycoming (IO 540), 13ft boat was a lot of fun with that power!

My buddy has a 13ft fiberglass boat with a twin turbo charged TIO-540, with the turbos turned way up. Engine is making over 450HP turning a 6 blade carbon prop.

I went airboating not too long ago with a girl I was dating...her family had one, and allllll their friends had them......


we had 5 13 footers out that day, all with aircraft motors in them...FUN AS HELL! Each iof these pix are a different "trailhead"





we had to skip a bunch of the trails due to the chainsaw wo0uldnt start hahaha

I was in a fan boat ages ago…had a blast...hope to do it again one day! We were riding in an area here in Florida that looked something like Idok’s pics (nice pics Idok). Some big cow or something was swimming in the water, and we had to dodge it (fortunately did, for we were flying). If Gary gives me permission to post up those other pics, I may do so (I’ll text him and ask). They are pretty funny!!:Banane09:

Here's some pics of their airboats, they bought all new boats 3 years ago and have 5 in total. I never got too involved with the boats unfortunately. The day was more for my wife so I let her have the spotlight.

Please don't try this at home! Gary has been riding standups (surf/flat) for 17 years (just not behind a fan boat, lol). The dare was to see if he could catch their wake, but he almost got blown away! :Banane13:

I'm not sure if too many are aware (and I was waiting to see if someone mentioned it), but these boats are used by our military...they were used in disaster relief efforts during Hurricane Katrina, etc....
