Yea FB marketplace is good no doubt. You can still use that and not the rest of FB.

The only other way I can think of to make FB OK is start a new account. Even after un-following all of the news (AM radio stations from across the country, Main stream media, local new stations, etc.) I still get bombarded with political crap posing as ads because now their friggin algorithm still thinks I want to see it.

It made me hate it....and then I got kicked for 24 hours once for calling something "gay" and I was like good grief, BYE!

I got the X for skis and freinds, mewe for old motorcycle groups, dragracing, etc....and then text on my cell phone for local friends and that is enough.

I agree man the ad matters. And if you are selling something cool it will easily be found. I check CL and FB market place daily and anyone looking for something does too.

It is imperative that FB gets ditched IMO.

I am holding on for now but at some point I will ditch it and lose contact with a lot of friends that choose to stay on the POS platform.

Mewe, Parlor, and Rumble are the new FB, Twitter, and youtube. It is only matter of time before they get way bigger than they are already getting.

Look at my latest FB "fact check".

I posted about this scum bag Texas wench Terry Meza (D-Irving)...

In Texas, State Representative Terry Meza (D-Irving) has introduced HB196. Her bill would repeal the state's "castle doctrine." This doctrine allows a homeowner to use deadly force against an armed intruder who breaks into his home.
"I'm not saying that stealing is okay," Meza explained. "All I'm saying is that it doesn't warrant a death penalty. Thieves only carry weapons for self-protection and to provide the householder an incentive to cooperate. They just want to get their loot and get away. When the resident tries to resist is when people get hurt. If only one side is armed fewer people will be killed."
Meza was quick to reassure that her bill "would not totally prevent homeowners from defending themselves.
Under the new law the homeowner's obligation is to flee the home at the first sign of intrusion. If fleeing is not possible he must cooperate with the intruder. But if violence breaks out it is the homeowner's responsibility to make sure no one gets hurt. The best way to achieve this is to use the minimum non-lethal force possible because intruders will be able to sue for any injuries they receive at the hands of the homeowner."
"In most instances the thief needs the money more than the homeowner does," Meza reasoned. "The homeowner's insurance we reimburse his losses. On balance, the transfer of property is likely to lead to a more equitable distribution of wealth. If my bill can help make this transfer a peaceful one so much the better."

And then they notify me that they have slapped a "fact check" banner on it.....but their fact check cites a site that does not exist...and they block my post linking the site THAT THEY PROVIDED (and does not exist) but then included the fictitious site in their AP article showing their fact check! LOLOLOL.

"FB fact checkers slap their label on a post I shared about Terry Meza on the fans of epoch times page and then claim the misquotes came from a site called www.gopforumDOTcom (FB won't even let me post that dead link!) which doesn't exist. And on top of that they try to make me sign up for AP news just to read the fact check that they slapped on here. I hope the proper people are catching this stuff."

I think you need to do your research and actually look into what the HB196 bill actually says what was posted is not true. Facebook was correct in listing it a "fact check". What you posted was the writing of John Semmens in satire, not the facts of the bill. HB196

"Language in the post can be traced back to a Dec. 5 blog written by the conservative humorist John Semmens, who confirmed to The Associated Press it was a work of satire based on the real bill. However, his post is being shared as real on social media."

It does not repeal the Castle Doctrine or prevent homeowners use of deadly force. It is intended to modify the castle doctrine to apply to instances outside of the habitation. Basically if you can retreat into your habitation and seek safety you should before using deadly force. It still allows you to use deadly force to protect your habitation. "A person in lawful possession of land, including a habitation on the land, or tangible, movable property is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate the other ’s trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the property."

I really don't care if the bill passes as I am not a Texas resident but if you are going to post what you read on the internet as fact then don't be surprised if Facebook flags it when it isn't actually factual.

This is not going after you MADMAT, I guess I could have said it more simply that there is a lot of bad and false info on both sides that gets shared and forwarded so do your research before you get too pissed. Like they have always said, you can't believe anything on the internet and now social media. If what John Semmens said was in fact what the bill was trying to do then yes, itat is just crazy and wrong and I would totally agree with you.

Well that clears things up. I am not for killing people if you don't have to in order to stay alive. I could not kill someone for being in my garage stealing tools. I could seriously F them up though but then you will get sued so it is better that the law allows you to kill them so they can't sue you for F'ing them up! What a disgusting topic.

And it is pretty dang pathetic that you have more facts than the fact checkers! They attributed it to a forum that does not and so far as I can tell never did exist. Zero mention of your facts within their facts!

Totally agree with you and where you are coming from that we should have the right to protect our family and stuff within reason. I don't think I could ever take a life for someone stealing my stuff or damaging my property but threaten my family and no hesitation. Being in California if you look at someone stealing your stuff somehow you are in the wrong, LOL.

Do you remember the old Married With Children where the robber sued and won against Al Bundy for touching his butt when he broke in. Funny at the time but sad because it's true.

As far as the "Fact Checkers" I am sure it is an automated system and even if there is someone on the other end they probably just clic from a template. Can you imagine the "fact checking" volume they must process per second? That is what is crazy.

After humans check it yes it does become automated. I have seen pics of their third party data centers with hundreds of monitors and humans reading and fact checking. It is a massive operation. I am still laughing that you knew more than they do! Why could they not find out what you found out and be more clear.

All of that being said, her actual own words are still pretty silly. She is basically just further blurring already blurred lines when what the world is in need of is simplification. As in, if you are on my property you may be killed.

I have no clue, maybe because it sounded like a absolutely stupid bill to me so I took 5 minutes to google it? Maybe the checker gets paid crap and just doesn't care, it has to be mind numbing work.
