Super Jet Mdavies' SN - Winter Project

Alright, I made a nice cardboard template and looks like 5" is pretty as far back as I can go.

Just for peace of mind, it seems the template out side edge is identical to that of the ATP footholds.

When installing, do I want the edge of the footholds to be mounted flush against the gun whales, or should it be cut smaller so they overlap a little.... May have to post pictures poor communication.

the hole should be smaller than the foothold lip. then adhere and fasten with rivits. you can glass over that to beef them up. they will take a stomping and the foothold is a leak prone area. you got hull drains so its not a big deal if the seap a bit in time, but don't be afraid to lay some layers to ensure they don't crack and break out.

yeah or whatever the lip from the foothold is. the more lip /overlap of foothold to tray that you have, the better because of the more surface area you get to seal up. cut small and adjust from there to fit it tight.

I will have them in and riveted by tomorrow night. Pictures as well. College is slowing me down, 3 tests on Friday of this past week. Ended up partying outta town all weekend. Still got some time before Spring.

9/15 Hooker was shipped 01/31 and should be here mid week. Can't wait. Will post some pictures of that too

So they ready for rivets, and the holes are drilled for 2 part foam.

Just ran outta time before dinner.

Just need to get my hands on some. How much would be needed for just behind the footholds?

you should tap that manifold for 2 inlets, even if you run single cooling. tap[ it with a 90 degree and face the outlets together and use a tee into a single line. great pipe, you will be happy with that.

With the duel tapped manifold, I will have water flowing up, and all coming out a single line outta the head? I assume the 1/8 line will be blocked off....

Or would I have to tap the head to accommodated the extra water flow.

you still would be feeding one line in to the motor, you are just splitting it up so it flows to the front and rear cylinder better. with aftermarket head it can have two outlets that i tee back together. it is no more water but better circulation.

Alright. I will look into that, seems like an easy thing to do now.

SJ Build Winter 2010 061.jpg Had the pump pulled but never thought to check it out before I got my 9/15 Hooker
SJ Build Winter 2010 063.jpg Managed to get it 'somewhat' apart
SJ Build Winter 2010 064.jpg Skat Trak 14/18.... Any comments? No one knew the pitch of the prop when I purchased it.

Can't figure out how to separate the reduction nozzle of the the rest.... Any tips? With the front half, there were tabs for me to pry against. The reduction nozzle seems to be flush and tight. Can't get anything in there to separate it.

Let me know, Mike

yeah they can be tricky and if you don't got the removal tool good luck. i would try a heat gun on the prop and then stick it in the snow to break it free. i read about that from someone on hear and used it on my stubborn sled flywheel and that trick worked. i use a pipe wrench on the driveshaft and file off the burs it makes after i free up the prop. doug will get it off for ya.
