Super Jet Mdavies' SN - Winter Project

Yea, it looks like its in great shape too. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Just put on my first coat of clear on the pole this morning, Should have it finished, and installed by this afternoon.

SJ Build Winter 2010 039.jpg Finished paint, costed me a total of $11.

SJ Build Winter 2010 036.jpg Installed Hazard Bracket
SJ Build Winter 2010 037.jpg So I believe I need to drill into the bracket to set the spring (Sjetrider spring)... I have never done this before so please let me know if I am completely misunderstanding the pictures I have seen.
SJ Build Winter 2010 038.jpg With the base of the spring where it is in picture #3, this is how it would sit.... Any thoughts?

Looks like I never hit post reply lol.

Well, Pole update already.

SJ Build Winter 2010 041.jpg Just figured I might as well try it out. Seems to be working fine. If there is a difference drilling a hole, placing the spring in, and then installing the pole, let me know.

The bad thing about being over excited is being stupid.... Not only till I ran out with the camera to take pictures did I noticed I never bothered to reinstall my hood straps into the bracket....

Sigh* Will wait for advice on installing the pole spring, then disassemble and get them in there.

I forgot!
my pole is tight. i grind off the outer part of the poly bushings and replace that space with metal washers. Metal on Metal and crank my single bolt tight. I use a non cast, welded stainless bracket that has sideways flex. once a month i tighten about a 1/4 turn and double nut it. springs weight too much lol. loose floaty poles give me a back ache

Hmmm, interested idea. I overtightened my pole slightly when installing and noticed how it just hung out midair. If I do have a hard time installing this spring, I may consider that for ease.

Thanks for the idea.

I guess I will have to try it out. I think I am going to run with the spring until I can ride someone's ski with a tight pole. Don't want to find out the first ride of the season I don't like it, and have to swap one in there.

Steve, closer to march I am going to have to snag a RN chinpad off you. I completely overlooked that my SN is WAY to big for my RN pole. But, its one of those parts that can wait.

B Pipe was shipped out today, and I believe my brother bought me a hooker for my birthday....... well, a 9/15 Hooker.

As for now, I am patching a hole in the bottom of my hull, it is taking forever to dry in the coldish garage. Will get the 220v heater running tomorrow hopefully so I can get this sucker back together.

100w soft light right next to the patch, should cure fully by the morning.

Tomorrow looks like I have to remove that spring and trust you two. D-roc, how long does it take to swap out an impeller? I know you have the right tools are are pro.

just pull the pump and if all goes good it comes off. I just read about heating and then freezing the prop in snowbank a couple times to break if free. never tryed it but i will next time.
