Because I don't have any. This autozone automotive fuel line seems pretty nice and is $1.20 a foot.

I wanted to ride today but didn't finish in time. Definitely riding tomorrow.

Total loss issues again

Had some ignition issues today. The total loss is acting funny. It will just die for no reason after running anywhere from 1 second to a couple of minutes. Then it won't start. If I turn the on/off switch for it off and back on again it will start. The LED is blinking. The only thing I can figure is a bad ground or connection somewhere or maybe a bad pickup?

The ski wouldn't start at all at the beginning of the day except for a short burst then immediately stopping. Then it suddenly started working with the above symptoms. I ran my little batteries out of juice and had to wedge in a full size battery to ride it at all. That and the fact that I didn't have a bilge installed or a functional scupper because it hasn't arrived yet made the hull feel heavy. When I took the plug out of the scupper tube it drained out about five gallons from leaking in through the trim tube around the cable.

It's weird because I didn't disconnect anything. I just switched it from one hull to the other.

Not my best day.

Lake isn't really cooling down all that much yet. I can't say how the hull handeles until I ride it without water in it and it's running right. I hope to have a report by next weekend.

4 gallon from JEGS.com RCI I think.

99% sure I have the ignition fixed. I had moved one of the coils and when I hooked the ground back up to it I somehow grounded the wrong side. I'm riding tomorrow.

Rode it today with no problems and Pabloecobar and Waternut's skis crapped out. We just can't have everybody on the water at the same time. It's a curse.

The ignition issue was such a simple fix caused by a dumb mistake of grounding one coil on the wrong side. It was one of those things I could stare at and see nothing wrong. I found it by doing a spark test and seeing a spark jump off the coil body to the grounding point.

Ride report:

This ski feels a lot different than my old BOB. It feels way more stable and solid. The front foothold really helps me get my weight forward and I feel like I have more control of the ski. The ski definitely gets on plane easier with less nose high issues. In fact, there are almost no issues with the nose riding high. The ski is also more stable after landing a jump and losing momentum and I don't fall over as easily as before. I'm not sure if this is just because of the front foothold letting me get my weight farther forward or if it is due to the pump tunnel being bigger or what. There was one more surprising improvement. I was able to travel at considerable speed in a straight line with the hull feeling as solid as a rock and tracking completely straight. I also like the new and improved footholds that provided a much better hold. For some reason this hull reminds me of a Rickter with the widened rails. My hat is off to The Ski Clinic for improving a great hull.
