lowered handlepole bracket question

I am looking at buying an aftermarket hood kit and was wondering which brackets would support a spring. I like my pole tightened down but really like having a spring in there too.....helps me lift the pole back up. also...is anyone riding an aftermarket hood using stock pole. I kinda like my stock pole. thanks

Lots of people use a stock pole with all sorts of brackets and hoods. No worries there.

You can run a spring and single bolt with an XMetal bracket, Blowsion bracket, UMI bracket, and probably XFT.

i see on the blowsion there there is a hole that looks like it might be for the spring but have not noticed the same on other brackets. what does it take to make a spring work with one of these brackets. are any of these brackets recommended over the others. thanks again

As always, take my info with a grain of salt.
Those brackets should work - but verify before ordering.

is blowsion the only one you have seenused with a spring?

unfortunately this is mandatory....i have to have a spring. thanks

Sorry, maybe I miss worded that. I have seen all above work effectively with the UMI spring. If you use the blowsion spring you cannot use the Wamiltons or the X-metal brackets effectiveley.

thanks.....so what is the difference between the blowsion spring and the umi? I thought they worked the same.

Why not just get a bracket like x-metal then drill a couple of holes and then pick one of these up from RRP? It seems like it would work but im not sure :dunno:
that will be the way im going to go this winter for my square.

i see.....so that holds the bottom of the spring where it goes to the bracket right?

I am running a waterdawg bracket, with a tightend pole spring (I think blowsion b/c it is not rusting) with a stock shortened pole. Works great. The thing I don't like about the waterdawg bracket (as well as some other brands) is that it does not have the little pole prop thingy to hold to pole up to take off the hood.

Here is a pic, I am running the waterdawg hood and nose piece. I presently have an x-metal pole on order.

Dude....i love that x-h2o sticker you have...pretty and sparkly! Why do you need a pole prop when you have it tightened. I havent used my prop since I have tightened my pole. It just stays wherever I put it.

Dont need this if you run UR pole tight. that is a Blowsion spring/COLOR]

I see.....they are totally different. I have the blowsion right now because i heard that the umis like to break.

If you get one (UMI) from WDK you will be getting one I had made from stainless that will not rust and will not BREAK, The WDK bracket looks pretty nice too.

I totally agree about not having the pole prop if it is tightened... which mine is, but it loosens up after a couple weeks, and it is a pain in the but to tighten the bolt again ( you have to take off the nose piece ), so when it gets loose, its nice to be able to prop up the pole, before I get a chance to tighten it again. Not a big deal at, I was just pointing out that I like pole prop thingys... but when it doesn't stay up, i just grab a bungy to hold up the pole.

Thanks... I love the stickers also. I got the idea from SuperJett. I ordered the decals from Abe at northgraphics.com .
