The 07 is only about $2k more in price. Which one would you buy and why?

I am leaning toward the 07 but the 96 seems to be setup pretty good and I think has more punch. I wish it had footholds though.

Thanks for the assistance!

i personally would go with the 96, engine has had allot more work done allready
footholds can be done allot cheaper then the rest of the mods that you would install to make the skis even

Thanks for all the input. I really wasnt too concerned with the footholds, I just thought I would mention it. My main concern was one ski is 16 years old and was a previous race ski and the other is only 5 years old and looks very clean. I am not familiar with all of the upgrades on the 96 so I wasnt sure if it is a good deal or not considering its age.

So far it appears the 96 is a better buy.

I would go with the 07. Much cleaner and in my opinion much better looking. Not having to do foot holds is a headache that is nice to avoid. Buy the 07 and save up for a jetmaniac 718 ported motor and an ada girdled head. Then you have a very capable superjet thats only 5 years old!

I would probably go 2007 because it is going to be in much better shape overall I would image. 11 years less age for $2000 speaks to me.

Yeah that 07 is clean...The guys garage is also immaculate, makes me think he takes care of his stuff. This is a tough decision. I know the wife would just say go with the cheaper one.

I don't know about that 1990... buying a 650 square is just going to end up with him buying a 701 in a year.

im riding a stock sgl carb 701 square and it's pretty fun. i imagine a 650 with a pipe and prop would be pretty similar to mine.

depends on what kind of riding he is doing i guess. surf doesnt take much ski to have fun. i realize i'm in the minority when it comes to ski purchase logic.

I vote against a square nose. Your going to wishing you had a round nose the entire time and eventually end up buying one anyways. You said the 96 was a race boat. Is it set up for top end or bottom end power? Does it match. The type of riding you intend to do? Is it water logged? Damaged at all?

There are a lot of variables to consider. I am biased towards the 07 but personally if you bought that one you could build up the motor to your own liking.

Just my $.02
