Basically, I really need to come up with something. I was planning to send my engine off to Art, have him rebuild my crank, port and bore my cyl to 84mm giving me an 820...basically a $1500 rebuild. I KNOW I won't be disappointed with Art's rebuild.

I just know nothing about these PJS cylinders, so I'm looking for some impartial opinions or data on this thing.

Thanks!

Is that a PJS Cylinder or just a PJS head on the stock Cylinder? He says it has a small pin crank in it so I'm assuming its just a small pin 750 thats been bored to 850, with a PJS head on it. Old stuff, nothing fantastic about that, PJS has been out of business for quite a while. So whats your end goal, racing/carving or leaning towards freestyle? If freestyle better to sell SXR and go SJ, If racing/carving then an 1100 conversion can be done for close to $1500 and you'll have a beastly 60mph ski with stock reliability that runs on pump gas.

Ya, he pm'd me about it on ebay. It is a PJS cyl. I just don't know anything about them.

This is a freeride ski. Not going to be light, but going to be strong for some abuse. This would be going in the ski in the sig.

I have a WCF top deck SJ to build for a freestyle ski someday.

The PJS cylinder is basically like a DASA clinder for a Kawi, huge ports and the intakes have been made onto the cylinder, this means the case reed system has to be blocked off , this is what he meant when he said cases modified for PJS cylinder, Gassem has one of those setups in his X2 and can probably give you a lot more details on how it runs, bottom end power etc, I suggest you PM him. JETSKI HAVEN has also built a few of these setups as well.

The DASA kawi cylinder has the intake on it instead of case inducted?

This is why I now keep most of my knowledge to myself, would you rather I had said it was like a Bun cylinder, but with cylinder mounted intakes, would that satisfy you ? How about if I said it was like a factory Kawasaki race cylinder ,but with cylinder mounted intakes and without the powervalves would that do it, how about if I said it was like a DASA NPV cylinder but had cylinder mounted intakes, would that do it?

The comparisons made to a DASA cylinder were to give a general idea of what kind of HP output could be expected from the PJS cylinder, to the best of my knowledge which is quite substantial, no other aftermarket 750 cylinders were produced that had cylinder mounted intakes like the PJS cylinder does.

I have a PJS 700 cylinder on my 650 bottom end and it is a huge improvement over a 650 (and most 750's for that matter). I am running 80mm flat top pistons with a welded 650 crank. The engine you are looking at is running a small pin 750 crank with the cylinder work done by Newmiller Machine (to match the porting to the +4mm stroke). Wish I had some extra cash for it.
