Super Jet looking for best surf motor combo

I have been told by a few people now the best surf motor setup is 62t/61x dual carbs. Well i need a crank rebuild right now, and if I am going to switch, now might be the time. Can anyone help me with the parts list for the build that I would need to switch over from a 61x/61x motor.

except intake manfold, electrics, need dual vs single carb . . . .

intake comes on the 62t and yeah dual carbs. shouldnt need electronics? flywheel and stator and bendix and starter should all switch over ive heard

I thought that all the electronics are different too. The fly wheel is defently different. The cdi is too. not sure about the stator but would think so since the fly wheel is. The intake mani is seperate to I am pretty sure. I am running a 61x and have though about doing the same thing you are but found out I need all of that stuff too. I have ran my motor next to my buddies who has the 62t 61x dual carb and really don't see or feel to much of a differnce. They are both not ported though. Think when you get into that it makes a difference though.

61x and 62t stator/flywheel are different
bendix, starter, ebox, etc are common

62t stator/flywheel is definately different than 61x. However, you can run a 61x stator/flywheel in a 62t case, i am right now.

As long as you keep flywheel and stator together, it doesn't matter whether it's going in 61X or 62T cases.

my suggestion for surf riding is don't get caught up in the super low end powerband hype. there is never a point in the surf where you'll need a huge hit right off idle. I had a 61x case and a ported 760 cylinder that worked fantastic in the surf.

dual carb setup sounds a lot more reliable as well, Especially since i am running a 46 with a/m FA. Gets water in and lags to start since I don't have my primer installed yet.

Dose anyone know what the exact horsepower diffrence is between the 61x case vs 62t case?

In stock form, 10 HP - per Yamaha spec sheet anyway.
