looking at used sxr's what years are best

I am looking at picking up a used sxr, to later convert into a eme Q8. What years are best to look at.. I have been told look 2005 and up do to electrical reasons??? is this correct.. I dont really know much about sxrs coming from yamahas.

all are the same except 03
and the 03 sxr is the same as little little bro sxi

ok so I really should look for an 04 and newer.. That hull would be worth more, cause racers like it correct?

I didn't think there is any changes in the 2003 to 2004 SXR hull... The change was in the electrical system from 03 to 04.

All of the SXR hulls are the same. '03 runs the same electrical system as previous SXI, '04 and up the electrical system was updated. Both work great. '04 has an air temp sensor you can jump to advance the timing where 03 does not.
