Are the only air intakes on the top, at the rear bottom, and how is the fit and finish? I've been looking at those the Wammer and Blowsion hoods since last year.

Here is some picks of it on the ski. I feel the fit could be a bit better. I hope that it will hold up in the surf.

Man you aint kiddin, that fits like crap..TBH IMO
Isnt that a race hood anyways. Prolly take on lots of water through those upper holes in the surf. Where else does ot breath from?

Good luck!

It breaths from the back too. It feels like it seals good around the engine compartment. I still have some adjusting to do, I think I can get it a little tighter. We shall see.

not so good for surf

You will need to Mod the Hood For Surf Use.
The First problem is the Air intakes into the liner are not very tall into the shell.(snorkel)
they also do not drop down in a manner to divert water from the interiorof the hood to the bottom of the Hull(bilge)
this hood is designed to allow air to get right to the carbs as they ask for it.
this will also allow water to get right to the carbs easily.
You will want to install some sort of Drop tubes like the Stock hood.
since the hole are oval, they will be tough to fit a standard coupler without some filler.
Also be careful not to have a WOT seizure...with this hood you will have a lot more air flow than stock and this needs to be addressed in your Tuning. The Risk can be costly.
I would recommend also that you close the top breathers and run off the rear only.
To reduce the lean Air problem fore mentioned and to reduce water intake when the ski is overturned in the waves. As is the hood breathers will take water very rapidly as the air escapes easily from the rear vents. The Rate of the displacement of air by the water is incresed by the heavy hull and the tendecy for SXR to Turtle(upsidedown) after being rolled.
The Hood is also somewhat thin and may not resist alot of side slap inpacts without showing some wear. if you are not crashing a lot you will be fine.
The Hood is great with a couple mods and I my self have been trying to reach 3DR for awhile.
