LIghtened Flywheel

I was told to take 180 grams (6.34 ounces) off my 61x flywheel for 701 1995 SJ.

This is what it looks like.. it has been balanced. (see below, before and after...)

Apparently it won't last full revs without splitting into a million pieces.

What are your thoughts??

What happens if it does split into a million pieces?

If you have a higher than stock rev limiter point, you have some decent horsepower and you ride it full throttle in choppy water it wont last long before it cracks near the hub. I would start looking for a stater plate.

Mods to ski include

- Factory Pipe
- MSD Enhancer
- Hooker 9/15 Impeller
- 201 Grate

Few other bits, bars, slutty hood mod etc etc

haha, that is a TON of material missing. i would love to see how long it lasts too, just not in my ski. with that said.... i had a rad flywheel peel away on me a few years ago- and those were a nice chunk of change so is there really a difference. i dunno. keep us posted tho!

That flywheel will crack around the hub for sure they should have removed the material from the outer diameter rotating mass where it makes the most difference.
