I let it sit for about 2 hours. I turned it on and left it alone. It eventually booted. I made sure all of my files are backed up and am doing my school work from a thumb drive for now.
I'm not sure I want to bother throwing a HDD at it when it could be a failing MOBO or processor or something that is not able to boot when it's warm. I'm going to see if I can transition into using my Wife's Mac so she can have a new computer instead of me. Not sure how I feel about the switch to a Mac...
I had a dv6000 and the mother boards can have the solder reflowed and be good as new. It is a common problem with the dvseries. The true problem was most likely it overheating the crap solder and eventually caused your issue. I had my mobo reflowed .
