Landed some backflips in the surf until I broke my pole

I bailed on my biggest backflip attempt on friday and broke the end off my xmetal pole. I was set to pancake land after a huge flip, so I bailed out the back to save my legs/spine from the impact, but when my pole slapped down the end broke right off...WTF

I was happy the carnage wasn't my body and that I finally landed a couple backies in the surf.

I'll be damm a cast iron end piece that kind of surprises me actually, cast is known for not being able to bend at the cost of those poles I thought it was billet.??

Nice Jetmaniac!!

And not so nice! Reminds me of cheap azz UMI.

OK so now we are down to WDK's and billet Rick Roy copy imports as far as companies that do not sand cast.

Or will they switch over to cast, and just not mention it, like some others after they showed the world their product.

Shady IMO.

That's why XMW is making their new adjustable pole with billet parts.

I've heard WDK is giving up on making poles, so that leaves Titan, ATP, and maxx I believe. Super Freak (Tem) is making a carbon pole, too.

I think Chris just wanted to join the club! LOL That pole shouldn't have broke, you really didn't bail on that flip. I seen your landing when you broke it.

I broke my Xmetal pole a few weeks ago going big on some BF's & it broke in the same spot after landing.

I got one of Tem's pole on my Carbon Ski now. XMW should have some new poles soon.

I wasn't posting to dump on xmetal, that pole has seen some hard use and they will warranty it anyway. Their new adjustable pole end is all billet.

I guess you did not know that Pat has replaced every pole or repaired every pole that has broken. There are about 4 versions of his original design, they get changed after years of abuse and he finds the weak link. Then makes it better. See if UMI will do that. NOPE

I love X metal poles! I was just sayin I have seen UMI's do that. I have heard and seen enough to know he always replaces them.

Does UMI still make new poles? Not a lot of market at all for them now I imagine.

when i broke mine they had to make the replacement for me. they originally stated something like a 3-6 month wait.

Xmetal is great, mine will be replaced. No one was dumping on xmetal, just talking about how we beat them in the surf!

Go big or go home!!!!

Chris Josh and Lucas were going very big that day and to give you a idea of the loads Josh broke his bed plates a month or two earlier, that's a burrley chunk of cast aluminum to break!
