Here's my idea,
I would like to put together a Lake Michigan freeride comp maybe at portsheldon or muskegon. I was thinking of a head to head single elimination format judged by the riders in the comp. I would donate gift certificates to www.foxyamaha.com in Grand Rapids for 1st through 3rd.

What date's would be best and would you come?

I wouldn't expect to win, but I'd enter just for fun if you are ok with blasters. I assume you want some waves so I would say the later in the season the better and even then good conditions would be a crap shoot.

I was thinking late sept so we have a better chance at waves and the water won't be as cold. I don't discriminate on what any body rides, anything with a jet pump enter it.

We just have to make sure not to book that same weekend for the TXJ Freeride in NY

There are already two freerides in Michigan, but it could be fun. I would enter if the timing was right.

How about the 2nd weekend in sept after waverave and before wavedaze. From what I can tell muskegon camp site is still open but the beach is closed. I'm going to call and see what permits and insurance I would need to obtain for an atv to be used on the beach to pull trailers and carts so we don't have to run the channel.

We did this a long time ago (1997) for yamaha they had a demo day at muskegon and they let us use atv's to launch on the beach.

I would go and compete. I'd probably get smoked, but it would still be fun. Port Sheldon won't work. All private property and people would throw a fit. Either Muskegon, or tie it in with Wave Rave.
I vote for later season so we have a better chance of having waves.

Muskegon sounds good, or maybe South Haven. I'm sure that properly promoted, this could be a nice event. Having it near a metropolitan area would certainly boost attendance and appeal.
