So over the years I have put all of my money trying to keep my FX1 afloat. I dealt with 3 different pump conversions, cracked hull, blown motor, 2 refoams and all the many troubles at home. I couldn't handle it anymore. I had to upgrade to a superjet! (Soon to be anyways.) I have been patiently waiting months to tackle on this project. And now everything is coming in and I am ready to build/RIDE.

'95 SN Bottom deck (Get to use a RN Midshaft :smoker: )
Custom RN SJ Top deck (Name of manufacturer will be released soon)

I could only work an hour today because its raining. Heres what I got so far...

Got more work done today. Top deck is now removed. Tomorrow I will be cleaning up the hull...

I must say, I am very excited to make my own modifications to the hull now that it is all apart for me. Everything will be much easier.

Also, I think Yamaha could have spent a bit more time on bonding the decks. I noticed quite a few gaps between the bulk head and top deck. Reason for all the wet foam I was pulling out...

Will be watching this, WTF do you guys use to attach a new top deck to a bottem deck? It's gotta be some sort of epoxy but don't you need to c-clamp it together or keep certain amount of pressure while it cures?

Yeah epoxy will do the trick. Probably going to put your mom on it to keep the pressure on! Haha jk.

Oh ok. Good to know. Also, idk how well 12-16oz of ashes are gonna put enough pressure to hold it together. But I can ship the ashes down south if she can help. I finally gave up on the fx hulls too.

Cleaned up the hull a bit this morning. Going to install the one way valve now. Should be done by the end of the day.

One way valve is in. Blowsion didn't pull through for me today on their product, but home depot took care of it. The tube is super low! The 5200 kind of skews the picture a bit. One way valve should get about 95% of the water no problem!

Yesterday I tested my one way valve and it was very successful! Unfortunately, the bulk head was not successful. About 40% of the water that was poured in the hull seeped through the bulk head to the other side. I had no choice but to remove the bulk head and re-glass it in. Getting the bulk head straight was difficult. I used my pump as my guide. Its the best I could do. Special thanks to Jono for lending a hand today.

Looking good kevin. That drive shaft looks dead center. Be sure and use the polystyrene foam when you put it back together. Take your time and do it slow, it shouldn't be that hard with the hull split.

Here it is! Custom top deck created by Tomski! The hull is straight as an arrow. The stock hull can't even compare. The tray is widened and the pole bracket mounting area has been pushed forward 2". The gel coat looks great, keep in mind that it is not yet polished and buffed. Pictures shown is the top deck fresh out of the mold.

I ride 100% surf so I asked Tomski to make me the thickest/heaviest top deck possible to take a beating. Final weight is 30lbs (he makes them lighter) and I couldn't be any happier. The hood and nose piece is on its way!
