Please tell me you have this thing done by now. I've been waiting to see a vid of it in action. You were slowly convincing me to do something with my stock 440 that gets no love since I bought a sj lol. It's been sitting on the trailer for awhile now but just to prove to me that it's still alive it cranks right up on first hit of the button. Damn thing used to take forever to start lol. Keep updating us!

I got done building the ski a few weeks ago and had it out three times now. The first time we had it out for the break in the prop we were putting on it was at impros getting worked so we had to break it in with the stock prop, what a joke that was it was like trying to drive a GTO with slicks in the snow. When we got the prop back from impros we put that on and then it wanst running right. The last time we had it out we figured it out that it was a clogged fuel and had it ripping after that. The bottom end is very good for the fact that it is still a 440 motor in it and it still has ripping top end. Even with the low pitched prop we got on it is still running in the mid to high 40's top speed. Here are a few quick pics of the ski now. We kept the stock sleeper look as much as we could. The only thing you can tell from the outside is the turf and footholds. You can see in the pic that we even tried to hide the pisser in front of the hood. Here is the complete list of what all was done to the ski.

Motor:
Group K port and polish and manifold match
Group K head shaved
Group K cooling mod
Group K 38bn carb mod and primer
Westcoast exhasut w/manifold (7 rings on the cone)
Westcoast spark arrestor
PJS waterbox with an overboard pisser
rebuilt tured and welded crank

Hull:
Jetsport bulkhead
Rebuilt driveshaft housing (filled with oil now not grease)
lightweight driveshaft
PJS prop (trued by impros to 10-16)
Bored pump nozzel
PJS intake grate
Westcoast fuel tank (not installed yet)
footholds w/turf
straight bars w/quick steer plate
handpole spring

We are trying to make it out to the lake tomorrow so I will try to get some vid of the ski in action.

Here are a few vids of the ski yesterday. Only was running for about 20 mins then had an exhaust leak that would not let it run right so the only vids I got were two high speed drive bys. The ski is still tuned rich on high end and has the low pitch prop so I am sure we could get more speed out of it but its not really what we are going for.

That's a sick 440 for sure!

Where did you find a bulk head support at?? Ebay I'm guessing?

Also how are you liking that prop? I'm looking for one to replace my stock one and I'm looking for lowend grunt too.

Daaaaaammmn! Even in the chop that thing was scootin pretty good. In flat water and no wind you probably have even more speed in it. Very impressive. And the sleeper look will definately get some heads to turn lol

Well the 440 held up in pismo this past weekend. My friend was getting some huge air with this thing to. I dont know how long this thing would hold up as a surf ski but if was fun while it lasted.
