Kart tank mod

I decided instead of taking 30lbs out of my boat I would add a 30lb weight , so that it will help slow down my barrel roles...... no more overrotated roles:haha: and that should help with learning BF's in waist deep water...... thanks for fuggin up my name Nick... its all good.

SOMEONE HAS GOT TO AGREE W/ ME HERE... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Yo, MC Pee Pants, me and Master shake are with you on this one. This mod has cracked me up for a long time. But I'm not just a flatwater hater. I hate on the surf guys too, especially when the 1st thing they do is rip out the RESERVE SWITCH and then run out of gas. I can't really say shi!t cuz right now I got rolled up hydroturf stuffed up my blown out scupper to keep my ski from sinking :banghead:

I know this sounds silly, but DON'T FILL UP THE TANK ALL THE WAY.

BINGO, WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!

Three gallons of fuel will weigh the same no matter what you put it in.

This has got to be the most ridiculous mod ever in the history of jetskiing... You go spend how much on a tank and a bracket for what???

You people kill me w/ your wacky ideas!!!!!!!

what he said. especialy the last sentence. however, it is alot cheaper than buying one from xft or whoever sells them if you DO want to do the mod...

In all seriousness guys this is a mod that I really would not do w/o in flatwater. Every little bit of weight savings helps and I have found this mod to be worth while IMO. I sold my OEM tank for $75 last year so $50 for the whole deal is not that bad. I read somewhere that just the Kart tank vs the OEM tank (both empty) saves 4-4.5lbs. Coupled w/ a X-metal waterbox and you are looking at saving a total of 12+lbs of dry weight. When I ran the XFT set up I noticed that the ski sat pretty much perfectly level in the water and all round felt more balenced. 2 gallons of fuel is more than enough for my type of riding. The lamey motor is surprisingly not a gas hog so that helps as well.

Don't be so fast to knock the foam either, that stuff does work and like everything has a functional purpose. Race car guys use it to prevent sloshing of the fuel as well as some motor cross guys. It all depends on what you feel is appropriate for your ride. I never liked dealing the w/ OEM tank b/c I tear my boat down allot to tinker...........to me that is 1/2 the fun. I have found this mod to be a great way to shave some weight, help balence the ski and add that little bit of convenience. I have some cool ideas for routing the lines as well and hopefully it will keep the engine bay as simple as possible. That is just my style of doing things, especially on a boat that I tear down frequently.

lol you take it apart and work on it 12 times more than you ride it.

I think the tank mod is silly. More than often hard practice prevails over the extra time making a ski perfect. But its all about what you like for your own stuff, as much as I dont like it, just my .02
