Just a thought???

HAVE A NITROUS QUESTION!!!I'm new to the stand-ups I just bought one a month back and now I got a new hobby!!! I came from riding dirt bikes, four-wheelers and anything else that was fast with the potential to kill my ***.. So I picked up pretty fast, within the first day of ever riding one I was getting some mini-subs in the water,180's, decent air jumps **** like that, without footholds YET.. But anyway I'm mechanically inclined with the dirt bikes as far custom work, engine performance, and other stuff, so this fits in pretty well with me.. So I've built a couple dirt bikes, and a Four-wheeler with NITROUS set ups on them, with like a 25 shot on them... Has this ever been done or crossed anybodys mind about doing it. Cause I'm thinking about leaving my 650sx stock this summer other than, exterior and outside hull things, like new bars, ride plate, re-wrap with hydro turf, throttle, bilge pump, footholds, or strapes.. I'm wanting to buy a 750sx engine have it built pretty good, and putting a nitrous set-up on it, just for like straight line racing, or for that extra little bit coming off a wave... Just a thought???

:sneaky: i seen something somewhere b-4 about a 25 shot for a 550 but i have no clue where that was now :sneaky:

The problem with running gas on a ski is that there is no transmission like on the other toys you mentioned.
This forces you to prop for gas which leaves your ski way over propped when the juice is off.
You could prop the boat for just the motor but the moment you hit the gas you would be cavitating and or bouncing off the rev limiter.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for the response, I put this same thing on PWCT and no one had **** to say... I"m thinking for just getting up to speed out the hole, or coming off of a wave not really trying to spray for top end. What type of set-up do the supercharged PWC's have on their props, or drivelines. I know its not the same but its similar. Oh and I'm a build it not buy it type person, I like the 650sx. I don't have parents buying me things, I usually buy it cheap and build it up over time. So just info on the 650sx will do me fine.

Building a 650 just isnt worth it.

Buya cheap square nose and build a nice hard hitting motor. No nitrous, no forced induction. You'll be happy.

What makes you think my parents bought mine? lol....your far off on that one man.

well like I said thats all great about a superjet, but once again I have a 650sx not a superjet it would be helpful for info on the 650sx not to offend anyone but what i got is what i got.. I'm really shooting for comments, ideas, pics on jetski's with nitrous setups. I'd even be happy to hear about a superjet with nitrous, and what their setup is like, But if its too far fetched I'll just leave it alone, and post pics and comments of this when the time comes. I'm mainly looking to have something different I think a jetski rolling around on the lake that purges right before it drags a boat, or other jetski would look sick as H E L L!!! http://www.holley.com/Types.asp?type=179

Dude...the 650sx is a pig. It's like blowing $ to build them up. They'll never equal a SJ, and they are a beeotch to sell form what I've seen in the past.

Comon man...who drag races boats? on a stand up? on a 650sx no less

A proper motor will be more then enough to outdo the nitrous in any way and not damage stuff in the procress

There ARE people with nitrous setups on their skis. There is a freestyler from Vegas running nitrous on his ski...the bottle is hidden under the gas tank.

The good thing about the nitrous is its universal and you could always swap it to something else or sell it. But I think the kit costs about twice as much as a 650sx is worth. Ride something with a yamaha 701 that has a b-pipe then make your decision if you want to drop money into your kawi.

The benefit of a blower is that the blower makes boost(power) right of idle and it's there all the way almost up to the top. Look at the supercharger not as an on/off power adder but rather part of the whole motor package.
So the supercharged ski can be propped according to the power level.

With gas you run on motor alone which has lets say 100 BHP, so you set up for that power level.
Now with a flick of a switch you add 25 BHP increasing the power by 25% making it a totally different animal. With the extra power you would need a totally different pitch to get the benefits of the added power.

Another thing about gas is that you have to make sure that your motor gets enough fuel while on gas or you will melt pistons (believe me , I've had expensive pistons turn into ash trays in a matter of seconds).
This would force you to run fat on fuel just for the occasions that you will use gas (unless you find a way of running a wet system).

Last thing you would want to do is hit the gas when you are not at WOT !
So using it to get out of the hole or getting off a wave is a no no.

To sum all this nonsense up, for what you are looking to gain, gas is not the way to go.
You will be running too fat and loading up the plugs when not on gas and pulling too much prop stressing the motor for what ?
A small gain in power on top ?

Not worth it unless you are riding a cough looking for max speed and nothing else.

Sorry about my rant and I hope I made sense.

you can do NOS, but it really not worth the hassle, you would get more out of updating the carb on there to a 44mm, putting a pipe on it, and maybe some porting.

let me see.. a stock 650sx puts out ummm 50 hp on a good day.. add 25 percent.. now were up to 62.5 hp.... prop up big time.. lol

the sxi 750 engine is at 75 hp on a very good day... add nos 25 percent 18.75
and your at 93.75... ha

set it up like a low powered limited ever since you will be ridding one for most of the time..

what are you planing on racing ?? power boats or sail boats ?
