My name is Yamanube and I am a dumper jumper...
I have a video but unfortunately its not on my computer, and when I land, I land straight legged also when I take off its just at the apex that I pull it up.

Can you control the attitude of the ski in the air easily. I am thinking not, if you pull up with your footholds it wont bring the front end of the ski down it tucks the back of it up into your a**crack right? It is easy on a bike with the brake and throttle, but I am just curious as to how easy.... or hard it is to manipulate a 300 lb jetski in the air.
you have some attitude control. not as much as I've seen FMX guys have but there is some control.

it's very difficult to twist and change the attitude of the ski in the air
...and like you said, lifting the tray w/ your footholds doesn't do anything unless you are trying to prejump whitewater, or clear a doubled up wave....

On a no hander I can definatly bump my gut into the bars and flaten it out a bit but that might have something to do with not having a pole on my SJ. I can't change it from nose up to nose down like the FMX guys or even close to it.

No, I was pretty sober yesterday. Although, I'm pretty sure I didn't call anyone an opinionated A-hole. But I will go against the popular senitment here (Although its seem like a Florida thing so far). I am pretty sure that I've never ass slapped a landing except by when I screw up a jump (which is rare). Sometimes I do straight up airs like you guys rave about and sometimes I tweak my body and bend my knees. My biggest beef with straight airs is when people hit the wave completely stiff and motionless and the rider is just along for the ride. There is no attempt to setup the landing. Its just air and flop. Thats the first image in my mind. Secondly if people are going to air out all straight and stiff, at least grab the nose or the rails. Make something of it.

true. we're too hard on ourselves i think.
NO! that is a valuable lesson for eveyone who wants to learn a lot of tricks in les than a life time. perfect waves don't happen and good waves are rare. I used to think, I'll pass on this wave, I'll wait for the next one but that gets you no where. the next "good enough" wave may not come for the rest of the day or for the rest of the summer. so I try to do what ever trick I need to work on for every wave that I'm in position to jump.

I know I've heard you complain about flat landings before, you don't think it's related?

possibly yes and no...I'm guessing more to do with my weak azz technique and less to do with stylish points for bend or non bend... but I'll be the first to laugh if you never bend your legs on jumps... I'd be happy to point it out for you next time. :cool2:

I think you are missing the point. I'm encouraging people to look better while in the air. I also don't know any tricks that start from bent knees in mid air. I suppose a rail grap could work. I assure you any bent jump I make is a mistake.
