So the moral of the story is, if you wanna look good taking a ****, do it with your legs straight

you are exactly wrong on that take... I will soar 10 ft above you on the same wave.... I guarantee it!

I use my legs to jump off the wave when I hit it, just like a ski jumper... (that's my anology I use all the time when teaching newby's)

In my mind I use the Snow skiing long jump as a model for how you should fly... What matters most is the position of your waist.. The waist needs to be right next to the pole, not all low and out of position... bending down will put your knees in a bad place, make the nose of the ski go up and most importantly... make you look like you are crapping a big load. Correct that stuff cause it's not right... Look at all the pros and good riders...

:hail: CANt DENY THE STYLE HERE GUYS. I will take his word for it and I used to bend my knees thinking it helped until I saw people I ride with doing it and realized it just aint right. And just aint :cool2:

I dont think it uses ANY of the same pysics as ski jumping. I do agree that it looks cleaner. I wish I had a video to upload but when I jump a wave, I approach legs bent a bit and as I am jumping I straigten them to create more of a ramp with the water but as soon as my ski leaves the water I lock my feet in and pull up, it does make a difference. Check out standupjetski.com, Andrew has been riding a long time and is pretty good (IMO) he FLYS off the smallest wakes and this is how he jumps too and his jumps look killer the proof is in the pics!

So what you are saying is the lowest point on the ski is going to be the same height either way. I call BS, I think the center of the ski will be the same point but when you pull up you make the center of the ski the lowest point and not the tail...

I agree that it looks stupid but I bend the knees cause my knees and back kill when i dont on landings (yea bite me I'm 19 and falling apart) plus, its leads to less nut smacking which, in my book, is a plus.

right, it doesn't make the nose any higher so you're not really any higher at all.

I think the physics are the same. Well, not the exact same, but similar. I just went back and watched a top secret video of Slutty jumping and there is a slight knee bend as he hits the wave JUST like a ski jumper would do to load up and the spring up as he's leaving the jump. There's no ice and you're not really going down hill, but the two are pretty similar. There's speed and there's a similar shaped jump.

I personally think its easier on my decrepid body to go staight legged and straight backed. Your not bending your back or having to lift yourself out of tray after every landing. Also, if you bend your knees and lift the rear of bout your odds of a flat HARD landing are much greater, correct?
