so i finally got the b-pipe after waiting and while i was attempting to access the jets on the carbs for tuning purposes useing a screw driver, was finally told to use a hand impact but the damage was already done. when i used the impact (not to be confused with the air impact gun) the screws stripped. what is the best way to go about getting these out. drilling them out seems to be the only option but in such a sensitive area it seems risky? any suggestions?

craftsman store has a pretty neat tool to get them out. I bought a three pack (diff sizes) if it doesn't remove it, it takes the head off. Then you can just vicegrip the remaining part out. It happened to me befo...

For future reference, fit a Phillips screwdriver into those screws, and pound on them with a hammer a few times.
That breaks them loose nicely.

Craftsman makes those easy outs for stripped screw heads. Drill a little bit with one side and flip it over and use the other side to back the screw out. They also make a pretty cool tool where you hammer it into the stripped out head and you can use a wrench of that size to turn the screw out by hand. You can find the second tool in the plumbing section at a Sears. Good luck

X2, I do this almost everytime just for luck!
also if they start to round I take the short end of a t-handle and tap the threads back in. These screws are very soft...

Does anyone know the mcmaster part # for these screws? and is there another style other than Phillips?

I stripped the two screws out under the cover on the metering block last weekend. Drilled the heads off and the screw stud came right out with a twist of a needle nose pliers. I just started small on the bit size working my way up until the head came off. Home Depot actually had metric machine screws that worked great for replacements. Good luck, if you drill them out take your time.
