I heard a story the other day where a friend was riding his mountain bike without a helmet and got a citation, the cop let the air out of his tires so he had to walk his bike home. I don't understand how you can write a safety citation and then say, "carry on".

Unless he was escorting them back to the launch in a controlled fashion...

jet skis don't just "blow up", especially if they're "not leaking fuel".

there has to be a ton of fumes in an engine compartment and be ignited by an spark external to the engine to get it to happen. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it sure sounds like BS to me.

this is not the same incident.. i heard it happened but don't have the
real story yet, this time it was i think a man and his kid at a rental place again in clearwater.. (CLEARWATER) where at times your ski can just EXPLODE.. :cat40:

Not the first time we've seen these types of posts either. Wasn't there footage of one a few years ago with a man and wife getting blown up on a seadoo? I remember seeing pics of the burnt seat.
Rare but def possible. Lets just hope that it doesn't get blown out of proportion. More people choke on their ties a year than this type of thing happens.

Would have been ironic if after they were blown off the ski from the explosion, they drowned because they were not wearing their PFDs. :sneaky:

That would still be tragic, irony would be if the patrol boat blew up and sank and the officers were too fat for their flotation devices and the girls ended up saving them.
