Jetmaniac lay down pipe rrp waterbox stinger size

Jetmaniac lay down pipe waterbox has a substantial smaller inlet size and longer than the rrp stock box. Will this act as somewhat longer narrower stinger. Anyone have experience with this wb and rrp. Higher rpm? Add more fuel ?

I know a member who switched out the RRP for the maniac box.. he loved it, less chance of water back flow, has a nice tone and it’s quieter. He directly swapped it in with a reducing coupler and that was it...No mention of those things your wondering about...

It wont let a ton of water back flow like the RRP will. I witnessed this first hand last summer with a friends ski. He could ride the ski. come back in. put on the stand. Go to crank and motor would have water in it. Pain in the ass. Everyone I talked to said Swap the box.

JM waterbox has the same size inlet and outlet as the PFP waterbox, which is the original laydown pipe and have the most laydown pipes sold by a huge margin. The RRP pipe is a copy of the PFP pipe design with some changes, it uses the same exh mani just different machining at outlet, the same basic chamber design, but since it is carbon, and not aluminum the walls are much thicker resulting in 2-1/2“ OD instead of the 2” OD of the PFP.
The RRP pipe has roughly the same size ID at outlet as the PFP. So the RRP waterbox has a 2-1/2” inlet so a straight coupler can be used. Just like the PFP uses a 2” straight coupler to waterbox. You just need to use a reducer coupler for RRP pipe to JM or PFP waterbox.

RRP waterbox has inlet and outlet at the same level and no internal baffle so water backflow and noise is an issue and that is why many swap out the waterbox.

Jm. Thanks for the info. My ski has a high side exh tube so water in motor was never a issue. However noise was so I’m trying yours. Just used a small piece of rubber tubing on inlet as you can see in pic so I can use the stock hump connector over it. The inlet into the jm box is couple inches longer and smaller around. I’m guessing when matted right up to the pipe it acts like a smaller longer stinger. Maybe this pulls more up top rpm outa the pipe ? Havnt ridden it yet so I’ll check plugs when I do. It’s deff quieter on the trailer

I was worrying about ingesting water with the RRP box. (So many stories out there) I put the JM laydown box on and never looked back. JM did his homework on this one. Fits in tight places. Tucks up against the side of the hull. Sounds really nice. Welds are incredible. 3 years now. No water ingestion ever! I highly recommend this waterbox.20200204_152428.jpg
