JET Designs, C.A.D. Services

Ride hard, put away wet!
This post is to share with you the beginning of JET Designs C.A.D. Services. As you know I am an avid watercraft freeride and race enthusiast. After over 5 years performing Computer Aided Design for successful companies such as RB Components and Inspire Fitness, I have decided to start JET Designs, a contract C.A.D services business. I hope anyone interested will review this brief description of my ability to aid companies/persons in product design and development with the use of 3-D C.A.D software.
My experience with C.A.D. software as a product designer and drafter includes both 3-D product design, and 2-D manufacturing prints. This ranges from machined parts, injection molded parts, sheet metal, complex surfaces, large assemblies, etc. I currently use SolidWorks 2007 in conjunction with AutoCad.
Currently JET Designs is available for contract work: full/part time and on-site work is an option.
Please review the write up below containing detailed information regarding the capabilities and talent of JET Designs. If you have any questions or would like to contact me,
please email me at joseph@jet-designs.com
or call (562) 728-7790.

Sincerely,

Joseph Gesicki

JET Designs offers complete 3-D CAD services using SolidWorks 2007, a leader in CAD software. As part of our design service, all of your designs can be supplied as 3D CAD solid models, complete assemblies, and in 2-D electronic drawing format. Using SolidWorks, JET Designs can develop accurate and reliable designs with supreme 2D and 3D capabilities for use in machining, prototyping, and/or presentation and marketing.
With the use of eDrawings and .pdf files there is now no need for you to have any CAD software at all. Anyone with access to a PC can download the hardcopies. eDrawings is a free viewing and publishing application for sharing and archiving 2D and 3D product design data. Files viewed in eDrawings supply accurate representations of 3D models and 2D drawings. eDrawings offers unique capabilities like point-and-click animations that make it easy for anyone with a PC to interpret and understand 2D and 3D design data.
In creating detailed 3-D models and assemblies with SolidWorks, JET Designs can eliminate much of the trial and error during the research and development stages. These 3-D models can be viewed by clients to completely analyze the product well before any manufacturing begins. The ability to focus on tolerance and fitment issues in 3-D models and complex assemblies leads to perfectly manufactured products requiring no revisions to the design. SolidWorks has a built-in interference detection to check fit/function and to identify potential problems very early during product development. Our capability of stress analysis allows for correctly engineered parts and helps eliminate failure during real world use. Using the 3D CAD data created by Jet Designs will greatly improve overall efficiency, save time, and cut costs during manufacture.
Two additional valuable tools within SolidWorks are the PhotoWorks and Animator. With these utilities, Jet Designs can generate photorealistic images and animations of complex designs/assemblies. This ability to electronically generate realistic 'Virtual' products is beneficial for sales and marketing purposes, even before any form of manufacturing starts.
Jet Designs can supply 3D CAD models in various file formats for importing into CNC programming software. We can take sheet metal models then fold them flat to create accurate blank geometry for data transfer straight into CNC punch and press systems. We can build molds for injection molded parts while applying the necessary draft to surfaces.
Sometimes the manufacturing processes do not include CNC machines or CAM software. Using precise 3-D models and assemblies, SolidWorks can provide an unmatched ability for JET Designs to very accurately analyze and check the CAD generated components fit and features. This saves time checking detail drawings that can now be produced from the 3-D model and eliminates possible interferences in an assembly. Reducing revisions and assembly problems equals cost and time savings to the client.

for CAD pro-E
for CAM i use ONECNC

i'm not really going to be making a ton of part to sell, i'm making them for school, and wont to bulk order material so pay for the cost of mine.. :) BTW: in a few weeks i'll have a cute little turn plate out. but i'm not rushing, since this is my personal project.

people were wonting a billet on/off switch with a built in bilge switch, that could get you started on a few parts

nice job sicki... starting/joining a contract services firm is starting to look appealing to me. corporate america sucks... you never get ahead.

i just keep thinking about the outsourced design/machining/inspection services my company is glad to outsource @ $150+/hr and can't help but think i could cash in it.

sucks getting going... but you wont get rich working for someone else...

now dump silly solidworks and get a seat of unigraphics... sooooo much more powerful!

With the amount of e-commerce on the internet, good luck with your business...surely you have thought of a better marketing plan than a free online forum, besides i didnt know this was a protected business-to-business arena.

And I believe the term you are looking for in the 'for sale' section is, business ethics.

it's one thing to advertise, it's another thing to hi-jack a thread and advertise the same thing.....

some of the best businesses start out by word of mouth advertising...what better place to do that than an online forum....

Joe is a respected member in our sport and on this forum. He has every right to try and drum up buisness from friends... Nothing unethical about that.

If I started a company, I would make an announcement on here just like Joe did...

On the flip side: Offering free services by threadjacking Joe is pretty unethical IMO.
