I may have come across an easy way to vacuum bag these,if so that will make this much easier to produce the parts.

Actually since it is a small part and the mold will fit into the bag,you use a seal a meal and it vacs it and seals it,Idea I got from the model airplane guys, they vac bag whole wing assemblies with these.

Which plastic product is the one you used for the thermoforming, I was thinking it would be the easiest to pull a hull mold with on my reshape. Cost?

I almost have the second mold completed, trying to get the two molds to match proved to be rather challenging as there are a lot of pieces that have to be put together and glued and glassed,I have it very close and will fine tune it with filler before gelcoating.Stay tuned wezzuh justa bout reddy to makes us sum parts.

Price is going to be the same, its similar to any other foothold, mounting is entirely up to you,I know how I want to do mine so that they are quickly removable, others may not want that,so I think it best to let everyone come up with their own mounting method.I am also thinking of skipping the gelcoating as noone is going to want white, all the ones I have seen are turfed top and bottom so you can use them as footholds and also to lean your foot against.

While we are on the topic of carbon x2 parts. If someone will make a carbon DCUT, Shortened, Jet Dynamics style rideplate.....I would probably take out a 2nd mortgage.[/QUOTE]

Get me a plate and I will make you a mold and shape it to what ever...

I have the idea of mounting an aluminum plate in the area under the seat where the foothold goes, that piece will be drilled and tapped and held on with screws and 5200,on the outside mounting holes you just drill through the rub rail and mount it with screws and nuts similar to the way a stock rear trim piece mounts. You should be able to remove these mounted this way in a few minutes with only two tools,if you want to get fancy you could also install an aluminum plate under the rub rail ,drill and tap it and glass it in,then you could use wingnuts like they use on ski bindings for quick removal.

Its going slowly on the footholds however, I got the truck back that night with no impound fees, she gets out tomorrow I think, I have yet to decide whether that is good or bad? My son is still having surgery on the 22nd of this month so the Chickenbone may not be doable,I will have to see how his recovery goes.I am trying to get the X2 ready in case I do get to go,pretty much there now that the exhaust is fixed.I worked on some of the bodywork today and really bodywork and painting is all I have left to do.Now as for the old lady you take a look and decide, this is what I have to work with.

Ok I think I will actually be going and while I have had no time to fool with these dang footholds I am probably mounting a set to my X2 to try out, keep in mind that these are actually the plugs for the molds so that would be pre-preproduction right?Anyway at least that way you can get an idea of how they will function and look on a ski.I really shouldn't be screwing with this I have a full plate already but hey you only go around once right?
