Ive got two spring breaks this year, one is in two weeks, im going to Hungary and then Austria (maybe ill see the Hydrospace over there) and then march 31-april 9 im going to be in the florida keys... i realize that there is absolutely no surf in the keys but i have a car down there and im willing to make a drive to give surf riding a try if there is anyone out there kind enough to let me borrow their ski for a quick trial.. anyone care to help me out (its freezing here in Indiana and ive got the itch (to ride) real bad)

If you live in Indiana... drag that baby up to Lake Erie. I will be posting surf reports for Cleveland all summer long. About 5 days a month we have huge waves up here and we usually know a day in advance.

i'm looking to ride some surf as well, but im hoping there is some in New Hampsire? becuase here in maine Novia Scotia kills most of the surf potentional..not to mention the water is FREEZING

Don't get to crazy in the surf...........take a helmet. I know I have hit good size barge waves on the river and you would be surprised how high you go :) and how hard you land :)

Good point. Surf waves seem like they have a lot more power then similar waves that a boats makes.

What an experience you are going to endure... Just think of the Wizard of Oz, when Dorthy clicked her red slippers 3 times to go home.. I think of that everytime I go to bed, but I wish I was in Surf, instead about another month and the Dream will turn into a cold reality...

you're right. I was happy with my lake until I rode in the surf. My first time in the surf was at daytona and I had a hard time getting past the small breaks right at the beach. I got rolled a bunch of times and generally wasn't very succesfull. I was hooked instatly. I only use the lake to tune now.

I rode the rivers before I rode the surf. Granted the surf was fun as hell and I can't wait to go again, but I'll still go back to the rivers. The river is about 15 mins from my house opposed to about an hour for the surf. I just enjoy being out on the ski, river or surf.

Surf is over-rated. Only wimps ride it. You can't do anything cool in surf. Surf breaks things.

There, I feel much better, I just have to say those statements every 5 minutes.

i realize ignorance is bliss and that im just poisoning myself with the need to ride in the surf once i do it... but its on my list of things to do before i die... and theres no telling when thats going to happen...
