It's good to be alive!

It is amazing what water can do to a house. We were going to stay for the storm but decided to take off when the water was comming over the bulkhead at 4. My house took on about 3 foot of water in the garage; I'm built up so all I lost is my some of my toys :frown:, but the skis looked ok. The cops would only let us in for a few min. to take pictures, so I didn't have a chance to check everyting over. I do know I lost my Ghia's new motor that I forgot to raise up :banghead:. The houses along the coast are almost all destroyed ( check : http://www.flickr.com/photos/30475570@N07/ for pics)
The worst part has been that my mothers house up the coast in seabrook took on about 2.5 ft of water. It has been hell gutting the house for the past 2 days by myself, but all I have left to do is cut & pull all the sheetrock&insulation, then spray with chemicals to kill the mold if any has started.
well this is my first night with power & A/C so I am going to crash, when I get the pics loaded I will post some.

Luke wll at least your house is in tact.

I got lucky.. NO water in my house and only about 3 inches of water in my shop. I was the only one on my block that did not get water in the house.

I really feel lucky. LUke if you need help with tree and limb removal let me know. I cleared my yard and about 5 other neighbours yards allready with my Stihl saw I bought after Rita.

Luke!!! thank goodness you are OK. Hate to hear about the damages. But overall, everyone looks like they survived with limited damage and no one was totally wiped out.

thanks for the well wishes. I have almost everything torn out at my mothers house and will hopefuly be done by tomorrow night, then the fun begins at my place. I have a ton of pictures of all the damage, but no computer to load them on (I am crashing at a friends place untill we are aloud to stay in the city overnight), but here are a few pictures someone took of HYC at the end of the street: http://flickr.com/photos/30905659@N00/sets/72157607310564176/
The house next to me and across from me had there front walls pushed in by the surge & everything sucked out, we were walking along and found all of there belongings in the streat & on the shoreline.
Kevin, thanks for the offer, but I think I'm going to open it all up & just use the hose on everyhting; but come on down whenever you get some time.
Steve, yea I realised I left if on the floor stand about when the storm was rolling in, it's a 17??cc that came from a friend with about 200 miles on it.
Mick do you think your saw could cut a pine tree with about a 1.5' thick trunk?
If so I could use the help at my moms place, my little 18" saw just cant do it.
