Is this the correct Starter

Started a new thread because I need an answer I ordered 6dr-w8180-10-00
They sent me this 6dr-w8180-12 has this part been superseded and will this fit It came with a lot of parts.
And It looks different

yes i can see that but the starter in the pic is not a yamaha starter. it looks like a seadoo 580 or kawi 550 starter. possibly a yamaha 500wr starter i dont know. what i can also tell you is that is 100% not a yamaha 701 starter. yamaha 701 starters do not have the bendix attached to the starter.

I guess you didnt know yamaha makes more then just waverunners.. it's for a 9.9hp outboard

Ok well it’s not like I didn’t try I googled it and that’s what came up and I tried asking on here only got one response so I went with it no biggie I’ll return it but I appreciate everyone responding now I am going to pick up my original one that’s rebuilt now I’ll keep you all posted on how this goes

You got the exact answer you were looking for when Troy responded saying "Yes and Yes"
 
I just looked at the other thread, and there you asked if "68r-w8180-10-00" was the correct part number, to which someone responded "YES", but in fact the answer is "NO". That's a bummer.
It’s ok the same day I ordered it I sent mine out to get rebuilt obviously I would like to use OEM but I’ll do it over the winter no biggie but really thanks everyone for helping me get to the bottom of this really

Well Crap, Troy answered your first questions correctly, but his final part was incorrect, he should have googled the number. Guessing he had assumed you had searched the right part number, and were just asking if all the starter worked for the 650/701/760 motors, Which, the answer to that is yes, they use the same starter motor.
