Is this a 550?

Just picked this hull up..has some PJS and OP goodies(steering nozzle). Trying to figure out of its a 440 or 550. There is no motor inside. 1987 model.

It's a JS hull. Look at the HIN tag. Should say JS440$@%×%87 or JS550$@%×%87

Front Nose has been replaces with an AM nose.

I will take a look again. I glanced at the hin and don't recall seeing 440 or 550

Where is the exhaust? I'm not certain but believe the 440 hulls only did front left exhaust but I'm not certain.

Exhaust comes out the back. That was one thing I had noticed.

I mainly went to buy this octane...guy happened to have this kawi hull sitting there with some nice parts on it. Didn't want to see them go to the dump.

It was a 440 hull then. For some reason they came out with the rear exhaust in that hull before the 550 got it in 90

Both skis were purchased from a buddies dad. Nose has not been modified from the looks of it.

HIN does not show 440 or 550


And I was completely wrong...exhaust comes out the front right, below the bond line.

The noses were prone to rip off. That ramp up to the pole bracket is not stock. Complete nose was replaced.

From what I remember that was a 550 only feature but I'm not certain.

Ehhhh wrong. All 440's had the donkey d!ck exhaust hose until 1990 when they introduced rear exhaust in both the 440 and the 550 Kawasaki stand ups.

this hull is a 1986-89 550 based on the front right exhaust location

Before 1986 models, all JS skis, 400/440/550 were front left exhaust with the donkey d!ck exhaust hose

Yes it could. However, I've seen lots of 550s with the nose mod and never a 300.


A picture of the pump would be helpful as well

Yeah, the rarity of the 300 keeps the odds low but I thought I should add it in.

I was going to add it to my post earlier but thought nobody would ever bother to mod a 300 nose so I opted not too
