Personally, I am not going to bitch about an illegal hull, I do this for fun....... Was not even going to compete in Nationals, but decided to for the heck of it, to just have fun!!!!!!!!!! Maybe that is the key to doing well, just do it for fun, no pressure!!!!!!

But as far as the rules go, I personally do not think that aftermarket hulls should be allowed, also, competitors who are pulling no hander landers, hitting double troubles, one handed rolls, Twist or Flairelroll as Mike Called it, or any of those tricks should not be competing in AM Freestyle, those or not Amature level tricks, yeah, if you have just started at the beginning of the season that is one thing, but if you were doing them this year and doing them well, then it is time to move up............

hey edwin, at the start of the 2003 season, Robby should have gone pro...........
Like Jason did after the 2003 season, but Robby was getting out at that point, think he competed one time in 2004.

I have not seen anybody calling anybody a cheater....... I have seen opinions voiced, nothing more.......... The rules right now are broke, they dont work, why? becaused they are not enforced......... There is no structure to go by......

I have not seen anybody calling anybody a cheater....... ...

Not on the boards... But I am not going to continue on it !
What was said is that... said... I care, but its spilt milk !

I just dont want to waste my time & money and then get :bs2: .

I would rather concentrate on being with riders at freerides !
and having fun with it ! :Banane09:

^^^^^Ok......I still cant run a SJ hull with a Kaw motor, or vice versa.<----Just an example. It is so pointless to have any guidelines in pro freestyle. You should be able to mod the hull and the motor to your likings no matter what combo may be.

yeah, maybe. and to think he was running an OEM hull and a big bore 760 w/a dry pipe when he won the championship. much respect. hopefully we'll see some of robbie next year?

I would like to see Rob get back into the sport.

the problem with AMs issue boils down to either youre a cheater or a sore loser. which is the lesser evil then?

I didn't see any sore losers in the AM class at either Nats or Worlds.

and to those who say they are doing this just for fun, then sign up for whatever class as per the rulebook for your equipment.. whats the problem here?

That would certainly put more "Pros" at the competitions---Pro skis with Amateur riders---wouldn't they be "posers" though?!? :dunno:

Maybe There should be 3 classes

Novice Stock hull / 800 cc

Expert A/M hull / 900cc

Pro A/M Hull / Hemi

Again this is motorsports
Even with stock hull 800 cc rules, theres going to be the $$ guys that can afford 800 cc Monster Motors, that creativly lighten there hulls, and go do the big air tricks.

So you arent gonna bitch about hulls? But youre going to bitch about the skill level of the Riders you compete against? :bs2: That is absolute sore losing bullsh!t ! I've been riding freestyle for just over two years, and can do 2 or 3 of those tricks consistently on a Limited Stock Ski (head, Pipe, MSD enh), Why? Maybe natural talent. Maybe because I get out on the lake and bust my ass, I get in the Gym and bust my ass 4-5 days a week. And Have fun loving it all. Not because of my hull, not because Im a sandbaggin son of a bitch:biggthumpup:

No way do I feel I could compete with any of the pros out there, Not only is their equipment far better, but the time and skill they have to put into the sport has gotten them there! If I competed in am or was made to compete in pro and lost to a rider that could do better tricks than me, I would not complain because he can do a Double backflip and I can only do one. Id go back out on the water after the compition and push MYSELF to figure out how to do that trick so I could be the number one rider, so that I could reach His level. Not the rider that complained "oh he's too good, he should be pro."

I think thats a great idea!:woot: Yay pat!:cheer:

Thats how the MX classes were back in the days I used to race (years ago 96, 97 era). And it worked perfect. There were Beginer riders (novice) which was the largest class, then Expert which were the guys doubling and moving quick. And the Pros were just Sick!

But if you won 3 beginner races or doubled during a race, you were forced to move to Expert!

My point is there is no structure... At what point should a person step up???? At what point does a competitor know when they need to go pro.......... Right now, the only measure is the level of tricks.................. That was my point. When you go to a competition and comptete You give it your all.......... You get beat, so what, you push to do better. some riders get better and better, some actually slip back and loose the edge......... But when Amatures start nailing the tricks Malone and Lenzi was doing 3 years ago, and keep doing them along with the new tricks that are coming out (Flair/Twist) are they still an Amatures????? Where is the division, where is the line in the sand? Not calling anybody a sandbagger. Just throwing out ideas and thoughts.

You hit the nail on the head.............

after winning X number of competitions should you move up????? I dont think having Nov, Exp and Pro Freestyle is the answer, not enough competitors out there for that.......... so, your left with AM and Pro.......... when should you move up????????????????
I know, this is another change in direction........

I like that too, but for the Novice throw in a rule of no aftermarket cylinders(lamey, ADA,etc)800cc or less.
