Matt... if you do decide to cut/trim it. put the slightest bit of a D cut in it. Then radius the edge's.
Looks like it worked okay. I had a bit of cavitation off the very bottom that is now gone.
I fixed the grate, sealed it, and sealed the pump packing.
Now the one thing left that's bugging me is my water leak. My hull drains dump about half or three quarter gallon after every ride. It doesn't take a long ride for that, either.
I suspect my one valve and tube, so I bought some rubber freeze plugs and blocked both ends off.
I'll try again tomorrow and see what happens.

I had a bad water leak and I couldnt figure out where the hell it was coming from....
Turned out that the silicone used to seal my front exhaust outlet up had deteriorated. Check that.

...or possibly that area that was chewed out of the pump shoe. Just thinking maybe it cracked and took a chunk of the hull with it. Did you take a real close look at it to see if it was only the pump shoe that was damaged or if the hull was damaged too?

A bit less water with the scupper tube blocked off.
I'm going to put a few gallons of water in the bilge and let it sit for a few hours. I'm curious if any of it will leak into the back.
On another note, I just tried another nozzle for my 140 Mag. I had a stock reduction nozzle @ 84mm on it before.
I swapped to a Skat-Trak reduction nozzle meant for the 140mm pump, with the exit @ 82.6mm. A tiny bit softer on the bottom, but more mid and top hit with a bit more top speed.
I'm going to put a few gallons of water in the bilge and let it sit for a few hours. I'm curious if any of it will leak into the back.

I don't think it was rocks etc.. that damaged that intake grate.
I think it was chunks of ice from the glacier you're riding in! lol.
I still joke and show people those pics with your handlepole all iced over.

I think I found the leak.
I poured about three gallons of water in the bilge and let the ski sit for a couple hours.
Pulled the drain plugs, and voila! Bunch of water coming out the scupper side.
Looks like some sealant around the tube is gone.
