Installing scupper valve, couple questions here?!

Hello!

I'm having hard time finding online some how-to's or instructions about installing a scuppervalve on the superjet.

I have a used wamilton laying around which I wanted to install. What kind of tube should I use, I was thinking aluminium tube and having it welded the right angle to the back flange, or I could go PVC tube and try to angle/bend the tube to make it fit the back flange. Which way is reccomended?

If I'm using PVC, what should I use to glue it in place? Thickened epoxy, 5200, other? Should I use the same glue type at both ends?

I'm afraid of the scupper going bad one day and not be able to repair it, I'm aware of people using veriplugs later on inside the tube to repair a broken/fauty scupper valve. They seem pretty nice but putting a bend at the back of the pvc pipe would end up preventing me from inserting the versiplug, right?

Well, I'd just like to know your suggestions, ideas on the topic, I'm concerned about a faulty scupper which could lead the ski to sink while parked.

thanks! :)

No, it is straight.
I actually removed it because I didn't want my ski to sink and I'm not a big surf junkie. I'll get you a picture of it when I get home, I use it to hold my shed door open now, LOL!

Haha, nice door holder you got there!

I read they all do leak to a certain extent... This is my first standup; never rode it and I am debuilding it right now. I am in the middle of glass work. It presently has a Wamilton's scupper on it and I'm just affraid I'll hate it if it leaks like hell and I'll regret not removing it while glassing. I need to take a decision soon but I'm thinking keeping it and plugging it some way if it leaks bad.

If you are ever going to let the ski sit in the water you don’t want a scupper. For me we use anchor bags and let the skis sit for an hour here and there so no scupper for me. I reglassed and painted the hull and will use a bilge pump and factory siphon.

Still not 100% sure how I'll be using the ski. My guess is that I'll beach it, ride it and come back to beach if afterwards. I don't see myself anchoring it much. However, I've been thinking of using some kind of plug in the scupper tube if I ever decide to anchor it and I tought to myself: An inflatable plug would be great, so I googled: inflatable plug.... I did not predict what would I see hahaha, I dare you to google it. It would be a very strange idea but I can easily see how I could use this thing in the scupper tube inserting it from the back.
