NPT thread / barbed fitting.

took carbs out, stuffed intake tract with rags... drilled and tapped. installed with red lock tight.

had bought the motor with one pulse fitting... previous owner had run an external fuel pump for his carbs.

worked great. nice / easy spot to work with. pic below:

Use the OEM Yamaha pulse fitting part number 62T-14251-10-00 they're $1.85 each.

They press fit in place after you drill the hole but a little epoxy wouldn't hurt.

Yes stronger pulse,if you split the pulse line it will work but essentially you are only getting 1/2 pulse per carb then, not what it was designed to operate at.

Wouldn't that result in a weak signal for 2 large aftermarket carbs?

Just build motors with 760 cases :) I did and had to block one off for my 38's.

I have not had a problem with it on my limited, and there are quite a few other skis similar to mine that all have the pules lines like this, with no issues. I thought the same thing originally.

I was going to do a T, but for a the few minutes of effort, do it right.

The way I see it, both sides are pulsing differently (one is when one is not).

You want the one carb pulsing for fuel when the cylinder is telling it to.

disclaimer: this all sounds good in my head. someone please correct me if i am wrong.

The SJ runs only one fuel pump.

In stock form, true.

If aftermarket carbs using internal pumps, they are seperate.

aftermarket carbs with an external pump, only one needed...

wait, now that i think about that, that blows my theory :banghead:

talking out my ass...

My last cases were the 64X 760 cases, so they had 2 pulse lines from the OEM dual 44's, so that worked great on my BrapJack 44's..

My new cases are 62T with one pulse line.
I was able to pull the old pulse fittings out and use one on the 62T cases. I just drilled it to fit with 2 different size bits. One for the pulse hole(on the flat spot opposite the other pulse fitting) itself and then the larger bit for the fitting. So that way there is no way for it to ever fall in. I then ruffed/cleaned up the fitting with a red scotch brite padd, added a tiny bit of JB weld, install and let dry.
