Impros Hooker Prop... Rode today

Still Fat....
Ok, just a little refresher on my setup, and keep in mind i am a fat phucker (245 #'s)
i am posting this in Freedride because thats what we do. I have 0 ability to freestyle and i'll admit it openly LOL
Anyway...

02 SJ, reinforced inside
Blowsion hull entenders
JD ride plate and scoop grate
the ski is VERY heavily modifed with almost anything you can think of has been done by PAul Lehr.
Protec Big Bore nozzle (I think somewhere near 86.5)
Wet Wolf freestyle cone in blue printed pump
Lamey 5mil Flat Top big bore powerplant, that definately needs a freshening up (approximately 325-350 gals of race gas through it)

I have used many flavors of the Concord props with various pitches and various cut backs. I posted this on PWCToday quiet a few years ago.

We now live in Yuma AZ and ski in the Lake MArtinez area, and i find the water (fresh water) soft compared to the salt water from the long island sound.

last prop in my ski was the Solas 13/15 cut I think was 5mil (race prep finish, with nose cone)

that prop was excellent, and to my surprise was in EXCELLENT shape when i took it out. I did not have much time on it.

So onto the this new Hooker prop. It's an out of the box 9/15 setup, 7mm.

This thing is FREAKING awesome...

I personally felt like it totally woke the whole setup up. It felt like i added more compression to what i had before.
It pulls me right out of the water, feels like the motor revs up alot faster
has some evil pull to it

it's hard for me to say if i feel slippage with it, something Dave was concerned with when we talked about it. I do not believe i am feeling slippage with it, but again, the motor could use some TLC so perhaps the extra power may cause slippage.

I also noticed when i got behind her SXR, i was at least 2 skis lengths closer before it would caviate, VERY impressive

and to test the strength of its downlow pull, it easily gets me out of a deep water sub, and when i reverse direction and whack the throttle, i gotta hold on.

like i said, these are my thoughts from my style of riding, and my setup.
Very imprssive improvement.
this thing will get you going (if you know what i mean)

Kudo's to Dave on this prop. I do think i can get it slightly closer to the pump as well, but that will be an offseason thing that Dave and I work on.

the water was about the same temp as last week and the same type of conditions, we only went out for one tank, but at least it was fun

It seems to be a tad bit slower(or the pull is not as strong if you get my point) in the uper speed range compared to the concord, but thats not in the range i run anyway. trust me, it still pulls at high speeds.

Same here BK. I wanna see what that does for me.

I currently run a 13/17 reworked to 13/16-3 and it hits damn hard but what would this hooker do!!??

Ask BK how my Hooker does, 10/15 -7mm, wet wolfe, 85mm exit nozzle behind a BB/Stroker/FT motor. Everyone seems amazed at how well it hooks up.

Power and Agility
I received mine back in May as one of the first buyers, and this thing just rips from the moment you hit the throttle. Even on a stock 701 with bpipe and ignition, it makes it feel much stronger than a concord or swirl propped boat!!!

Mine is a 9/15 btw!!!

Still Fat....
like i said just this swap alone, it felt like the motor came alive, pretty impressive considering the power it already has and it's age.

i can only suggest for others to try this, it seems VERY well worth it.

i did notice it was slightly heavier than the Concord, but it just wakes up the ski big time

i will definately have to buy another one as a spare to have around.
I think it can be trimmed back just a tad more too, so we shall see what happens down the road when i refurb the ski over the winter time.

hopefully he makes something like this for the SXR
