Impros Hooker 9/15 vs Solas 13/17

I have heard good results from both of these impellers for freestyle use on the superjet and I'm leaning towards to hooker 9/15, but I could get the solas for almost half the price. So I was wondering if anyone had had experience with both impellers to say whether or not the impros would be worth the extra money?

Need to compare apples to apples IMO...

13/16 cutback -vs- hooker 9/15......and then do they like the same nozzle bore?

9/15 Hooker is close to a 13/17 Solas in performance and application if I am not mistaken. Lowest pitch of this series unless you get custom pitched to lower specs

So then a 13/16 cutback is probably better than a hooker 9/15?

In my experience it absolutely positively is.
depends on your setup........

I have only ridden 1 SJ that had a Solas Concord that hooked up like it was suppose to and did not have that lag when you first hit the throttle.

I went from a SKAT Freeride to a Hooker. The Hooker was better. But if you had a Skat I would not suggest swapping for the Hooker........ I just do not like Solas props for SJ's.......... Now, for SXR, I love Solas Dynafly's. They work really well.

I had bored nozzle with a 10/16 Hooker, and also a 9.5/15.5 Hooker. Nozzle Boring, Pitch size is all part of the whole tuning package......... everybody is going to be different unless they have set up their ski identical to someone else and they weigh about the same........... every setup is different.

Hence pump tuning sucks!!!
Ding Ding Ding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what I loved about SJ's. picking the right prop was easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Throw in AM Hulls, Glass vs Carbon. There are so many freaking variables. Now go try and figure out which skat prop to order for a 148 pump. There are about 9 different pitches.

Well I will swear til the end of time that a Solas 13/16 -3mm in a stock pump with a maximum bored nozzle is hard to beat in either a stock superjet or a aftermarket surf hull that is 40lbs lighter than a superjet hull....(I had this set up in both)

It is pure excellence with zero hesitation and all pull until 49mph....

It is a dream set up....after all these years it still pulls and pulls and flings the ski off the faces and lips!

The hookers I have tried were lame and I can't imagine the nozzle bore or cutting it back would have changed my mind at all.

I need to try more.

I'm running a Solas 13/17 with nozzle bored to 86mm and also a stubby cone. My buddy and I run almost identical skis and he has the skat swirl freeride. It definitely has more hookup. Not so much from holeshot but more like continuous hookup as I ride up the face of a wave. Tough to explain but comparing it to mine it's like the Solas doesn't stay hooked up all the way.

@MADMAT Really been considering swapping for a skat swirl or hooker but now you got me thinking whether I should try sending mine in to get it repitched to 13/16 and cutback..

I wish someone out there with a skat-trak or hooker lying around would let me borrow one for a day to try it out
