can anyone help me with pitch. whats, what higher number give more acceleration or top speed?

If I remember right, the higher the number the more twist in the blade which is top end, and you get more surface contact on the blades. This is where higher horsepower is required. The lower the number, the less surface contact with the water which allows for higher revs...bottom end. Too much pitch will have a lot of cavitation and take a long time to get any speed, too little and the impeller will just spin but not throw much water plus over revving will happen. Am I right or backwards on that theory to anyone else that knows for sure? I haven't done the research in a long time so I think I forget lol.

i have two solas impellers and im lookin for more bottom end for my kawi 650sx. i have a supra KA55 and a KA-SC-I 13-18 donno which one to run.

Not sure what the 55 is unless they mean 15.5, but I know a lot of guys recommend using a 15.5 pitch if it's for freestyle. The 13/18 is a progressive pitch and is meant more for top end. It starts out at 13 and tightens up to 18. They do this to try and address all ranges with a bit of a balanced distribution through the power band. Of course the point in the end though is to get the most top end out of the impeller.

Anytime, I have a 650SX as well and that's all I ever hear when it comes to an impeller for them, the 15.5 for freestyle. I haven't heard anything about the Solas impellers though, it seems like the brand of choice is for Skat-Trak.

ive got a pipe and a 40mm super BN carb on the ski, rode it yesterday and it rides real smooth but the low end is deff a little slugish would repitching it make that better? and am i pinchin the blades closer or pushin them away from each other?
