I was involved in an auto collision Thursday morning with a Semi truck and his trailer. I was turning left on a green arrow and the guy slid through a red light and broadsided me. This was after the blizzard of 2007 that left the roads all icey so I can understand, but he was hauling ass. My truck is totalled, the ambulance took me and my girlfriend to the hospital for neck injuries. Im on 2.5 500mgs and i feel okay, still pain though. Anyways my truck is totalled so i gotta get something new... I was thinking of a honda ridgeline, anyone got anything to say about that?

This should go without saying but Ill say it anyways, i havent been able to ship those parts still guys, ive been thinking about it a lot and i hate being the guy that delays that kind of thing. Im going to have a friend of mine take care of it on monday, they are all boxed up and labled. :blackeye:

This is on another note enyirely but make damn sure that everything is ok with you before you settle with their insurance company, their insurance company should pay any and all medical bills.I was involved in almost the exact same deal a couple of years back and they were billing the insurance company directly, well I find out atfer we settled that their insurance company didn't pay up and that I was still screwed up for years after the accident.I am ok now but I am just saying make sure you are physically ok and that they pay for everything, you will have to negotiate with them to get them to do the right thing.Do yourself a favor and get you a lawyer.

wise advise. i am far from the typical sue you american ******nut, but after the oxycodone wore off and another year went by i knew my body would never be the same. trucking companies have insurance, find a real doctor (not one recomended by ambulance chasing attorney) and double up with second opinion. if you think you were injured at all, don't even think about settling on medical for at least six months (i have year in my state) no matter how much they offer.

Yeah their insurance company said I didn't need a lawyer also and I got screwed, get yourself a lawyer,it will be well worth it in the end.I think it took about two to two and a half years for my left shoulder to stop popping, luckily it did not require surgery and I did my own rehab,it took years to get the strength back on that left arm and shoulder.

Bummer, hope you get better soon!
A coworker has a Ridgeline and loves it. I have ridden in it and it rides really nice and smooth. I love Honda cars and I currently drive an RSX (Acura flavored Honda)

I'd go with a good used GM/Chevy truck.

I saw that Ridgeline at the Detroit autoshow a year or two ago (whenever it was first released and won best in show) and wasnt too impressed with it. Never drove one though. Driven Nissian trucks and did not like how they "felt."

Get well soon buddy.

If you want that style get an Avalanche, the ridgelines are crappy soccer mom truck wannabees with V6 power...the new Tacoma's are pretty cool looking so are the Nissan Titan but I recently fell for the new Chevys!

If I were in the market for a new truck, I would go with a 'Yota. They have been known for their reliability in the truck market like Honda in the car market; I am sure the Ridgeline is nice, but its not "proven" in the truck market yet IMO. -Kurt
